    4AA cells x 1.5 volts = 5 NiMH cells x 1.2 volts = 6 volts. The indicator will read the level of any 6 volt pack on it's scale since that is what it is made for. It doesnt know where the 6V is coming from..

    I have put mine away. After 4 gallons the chassis needs some work and I was never able to get it to consistently run well enough to spend more money on it. As for surfacing the head if you have the capability I would try it. At least enough to true the mating surfaces. It it is leaking...

    If it wont run at all it is very likely the piston ring is broken and you have no compression.

    I have run at least 4 gallons threw the Octane. It took a lot of work and learning. The engine is bad but when it works it is a hoot. I still have mine and it works but their are no parts to keep it going so I am waiting for the V2 to come out.
