    LRP ZR32 failure

I've seen similar failures on traxxas 2.5/3.3 engines and oddly, OS21RG engines back in the day. A buddy of mine shattered 2 con rods during break in, which took the piston/sleeve with it, so basically the engines were trashed as far as cost was concerned. The only thing we can think is that it...

LRP NITRO MOTOR ZR.32X SPEC.4.1 COMPETITION

FWIW, every LRP engine I've owned liked to be at least 80F to start. Anything under 50F and you could pull the cord until your fingers bled and not get a pop out of it. Between 50 and 70, they fight you. I've had a few of the 28's and 30's over the years. Even when fully broken in (which takes...

can i replace the silicone pipe coupler with a different better coupler?

Try making a support for the center of the pipe. Doesn't need to be anything fancy. Just a heavy wire screwed to the side of the chassis with a piece of fuel tube on it so it doesn't damage the pipe. It helps hold the weight of the header/pipe when your jumping and keeps it from stressing the...

    servo saver...

If you tighten it all the way, the saver won't split like it's supposed to. It should only be tightened so the knurl nut is a few mm from the bottom of the chassis. I think there was a stiffer spring you could use, but that was a long time ago. For all I know, they all use the same one now...

HPI Savage XL Engine replacement with LRP ZR .32

I usually back the bolt out a little bit then tap on it to dislodge the one of the cinch pieces from the carb. Once you do that, you can usually wiggle/twist the carb back and forth and it will break free from the other cinch piece. Some are multi-piece, others are a single piece. This is a...

    Destroying CB's

Also check that the engine plate itself isn't cracked and the screws to the chassis braces are tight/thread locked and the chassis braces to the chassis are tight/thread locked. I had a bad mesh with my X once and the plate itself was cracked. Didn't see it until I removed the engine and mount...

    Destroying CB's

Then all you have to worry about is the center melting out of it when it does slip... You should be ok if your using hardened bells. That's what I ran on mine with the HPI steel spur which was half as thick as your spur, so it was putting more stress on the bell teeth since the load was...

    Carb o-rings

Can't use silicone o-rings? Figured that would be ok considering that's what's used for the coupler and many fuel tank seals. I got a few sizes of silicone ones off amazon last year for my LRP28S3 as the HSN was changing on it's own. Seemed to work ok. Might have been my OS21Tm... either way, I...

can i replace the silicone pipe coupler with a different better coupler?

No. It's silicone. It lasts a really long time. Really, I've never replaced a piece due to damage or melting and I've been using it for quite a few years.

Savage X 4.9 dual brakedisk touch the clutchhousing

I had that issue with mine when I dropped the CB down to accommodate 3.8" trenchers for grass running. I just put spacers under the engine mounting tabs to raise it up 2mm. I used the 2mm version of these I believe: https://www.rcjuice.com/hobbystar-aluminum-spacer-10pk.html Whenever I make...

how to install this hpi tuned pipe?

I thought the tuned pipe was similar to the stock composite. The HPI ringed pipe was LOUD LOUD LOUD though. I can't recall if I ever ran the HPI composite pipe... always had one of the HPI Polished Tuned ones around, and it had quite a bark to it. The HPI ringed pipe nearly deafened me. lol!

is there any relation between plug temp and outside temp? i have a feeling there is

I've always read the same as @lokky suggests. Glow plug temp relates to compression and nitro content. The temp controls the timing of the combustion in the stroke. Too hot and it fires too early and the piston fights itself trying to go up, too cool and it fires too late and blows half the...

if i spin a spur gear and look at it from above, is it supposed to spin with 0 movement?

Yep, will likely wobble a little. If it wobbles quite a bit, you may want to check the transmission input shaft as it may be bent and need replaced.
