you could either just adjust the servo horn (power on the truck, remove the horn, rotate it a tooth or 2 so it's not engaging brake) or just keep it trimmed so it's not engaging the brake.

the thumb screw that's on the linkage towards the front of the truck in front of the servo is to adjust brakes

https://www.hpiracing.com/assets/documents/instruction_manuals/111603-f35_v2-glb-m-v1.pdf there is a link to the manual for the f3.5. there are many different ways to break in an engine, I've always gone by whatever the manufacturer tells you.

looks good! I would try to run it now. start with it off the ground on a stand or something. that way if it malfunctions you don't have a runaway truck. let it warm up. if the idle is too high or too low adjust it with the screw, not the linkage. it should be low enough that it won't move when...

ok, so I see a few things. 1 I'm not sure your linkage is set up quite right, because it's not opening fully under full throttle. as far as the closing when you brake, that's what the idle screw is for. pop the ball end off of the carb (I use pliers that makes it easier). then with the spring...

something like this will work https://www.amainhobbies.com/dynamite-throttle-return-spring-set-2-dyn6640/p-qqqcq2qayb2xactz your linkage doesn't look bad id be willing to bet if you put a spring on and just the idle needle you'll be good.

the spring makes sure the carb closes when you go to idle. otherwise, the carb could get stuck open. very important. correct, don't just the needles. the idle screw isn't the needle, it sets the gap on the carb when closed. that you might have to adjust here's the checklist just to restate...

oh, also I see your missing the throttle spring. it goes from the rod end ( black part attached to the carb) to the brass hi speed needle. that's very important as well to keep the carb closed

there's multiple things you could change. could you send a pic of the whole linkage? usually, I would start by taking off the servo horn, setting the servo to center, then putting the horn on so the carb is properly set. also, make sure that it is the linkage and not your idle screw. to do...

no still too high of an idle. it should look more like this about a 1mm gap also read up on how to break a new engine in. it's not hard just takes time.

generally you won't find a single-piece header/pipe unless it's a custom upgrade pipe. sold together and assembled sure, but not a single piece it's usually a header and a pipe.
