    Tekin RX8 Support Q&A

It fits the stock mounts just fine. 5s 2000kv is about the fastest I'd strap up with that motor. But it does work just fine. Gearing is key to start off slow. Running back flip?! I've never tried that lol

    Tekin RX8 with Flux Tork

It works just fine. It's sensorless so you don't get the entire benefit of the sensored Rx8 but it's still really good.

    Tekin RX8 V1 & V2

The 4 hole version is just an indication of the old case design. It's the only "outside" factory to verify new vs. old case. If you have a 4 hole cased unit you should send it in for an update/upgrade. The charge is $40 if it's outside of warranty. This will get you any and all updates, freshen...

    Which Tekin system?

I've used a 2650 in a Hyper 10 and had good success. The 2250 would need a HUGE pinion unless you're going to run 3s or more. Yes the Rx8 is the perfect esc for this class. It's what I use.

    Tekin Rx8 getting torture tested

Ha! That's me! I was using a 2000kv on 5s just for horsing around. It was the weekend after the first 1/8 Nationals after I won! I was jumping that in the back of my Father in Laws house.

    Which Tekin system?

If the system is only a month old the warranty still stands. Ideally it should not have blown but should have thermally shut down. The internal caps can blow with the use of cheap batteries but we can't prove in all honesty.

    Which Tekin system?

If you added 20% more rpm's give or take why would you not change the gearing? I bet if we look at the esc the caps inside are blown indicating HUGE power surges. These can be caused by improper gearing, weak battery pack, etc.

    Which Tekin system?

What batteries are you using? Did you change the LiPo cut off when switching back and forth? Did you change the gearing also when swapping?

    Which Tekin system?

Did you install the disk first? If so you must uninstall via the control panel, add remove programs. Reboot, and download the latest file from our website: www.teamtekin.com/hotwire.html

    Which Tekin system?

No more than 6 led's on the esc and no more than 200 on the motor

    Which Tekin system?

You simply need to understand that by simply going up 1s in your LiPo count that you later the gearing/rpm by a large amount. So for example going from 4s with a 2000kv(30k roughly) to 5s 2000kv(36k roughtly) is a lot in terms of added rpm. For this reason alone I suggest a gearing change. If...

    Which Tekin system?

Thanks Fred, Yeah the 2050 isn't suited to a Savage. The motor I'd reccomend is the 2000kv system purely because you're running some 5s. It's plenty of power on 4s but with 5s it will be insane fast. When you go to 5s you will need to change pinions.

    Tekin RX8 Support Q&A

The motors are set to 12 from the factory or near to it anyhow. The setups are both mild for 17.5. I personally don't like turbo in offroad unless the straight is over 120ft. Try my "standard 13.5 setup" posted on the website. You'll like it, it works great in SCT.

    Tekin RX8 Support Q&A

From the sounds of it you're batteries are not up to the current draw you're asking of them. 28c is pushing it in my book regardless of application. If the motor isn't hot you're not working US hard, just the packs. If you were running a 29 with the CC system I'd start there with ours as well...

    Ryans Ve8 build

Ok, I've run this kit quite a bit. I HIGHLY reccomend running the aluminum skids asap. Other than that pick up some rear springs. For 4s I highly reccomend running the 1900, it's a super easy to drive setup with plenty of power. Geared 22/50 for the average sized 1/8 track.

    NEW Savage Flux 2350 kv

When it comes to KV ratings the battery MUST always be considered. What you're ultimately looking to accomplish is to match the usable kv rating that chassis was designed for. In other words your matching the rpm's of a nitro egine more than likely. So for say 4s a 2250 or 2000kv motor are...

    Tekin RX8 Support Q&A

Thanks for the large welcome guys. I look forward to working with everyone. On 4s I'd suggest either the 2000kv or 2250kv. If you plan to dabble in 5s take a look at the 1700. If you're looking to get just one to try first go 2000 since it can run on 5s but is VERY VERY fast. Gearing will...

    Tekin RX8 Support Q&A

What battery power do you use or plan to use? This alters my motor suggestion greatly. The new Rx8 case prevents vibration issues with solder joint fatigue. It's easy to identify as there are now only 3 mounting screw holes on the bottom.
