Bank goes Brushless with 1ST PRC FLUX XL

Awesome build bud. Here's a thought on the battery wiring. Why not get rid of that Deans serial harness hand have the ESC connectors replaced with a single high grade 6.5mm billet male and female? The batteries will also need the Deans replaced with male and female billet plugs, male on neg...

    Hyperion G3 6500 Mah

I have the same packs and same charger. Tried charging the packs at 13A each with no issues. Powering the charger with a industrial switching power supply for network devices pushing 24V at 23A. That PSU will handle two Hyperion 0615 Duo3s with ease. Look for a HP J4839A if you folk are...

My First RC truck - Savage Flux "XL"

@rohitx Well, I used the longest 4mm screw I could find that could fit the space. @gnarkill I am unsure at this point. I'm sure the aluminium RSC, titanium arms and full 12.9 hex screws put a fair bit of weight back in. Once I get a weighing scale I will check. DF

Flux XL (Basher and a Racer)

btw the other thing you can do is run a slightly shorter wheelbase by moving the spacers on either side of the wheel hub to the back. DF

Flux XL (Basher and a Racer)

I use Caster spacers and longer screws to move the shocks away from the suspension tower. Another you can do is mount the lower part of the shock on the outside of the shock arm with a long screw. Please use a locknut and a longer screw if you do this as the plastic will strip if you fail to...

WARNING: Make sure you know what battery you have before you turn that charger on!

http://media.hyperion.hk/dn/g3lipo/G3-Specs-EN.pdf Look right at the end. They will be sticking with 5400mah packs max. Looks like 6S packs will also be a nono. Their limits are <20Wh per cell and <100wh per pack. 5S 5400 will be the largest pack they can make. DF

WARNING: Make sure you know what battery you have before you turn that charger on!

Slight mistake there Baddasz. They were run in parallel, 2S2P. Methinks the kid got a defective (duh) pack where one of the paralleled cells wasn't matched properly. A dude I know has links to a batt manufacturer in China. According to his contacts, out of 100 cells made, maybe only 2-3 are...

My First RC truck - Savage Flux "XL"

Today I got around to installing the GH alloy servo saver. I found that the alloy steering link was a mite fat, and caused some binding against the outdrive moulding. I had a spare FLM steering link on hand, and swapped out the GH link with that. It was a much better fit. The GH captive...

Flux XL (Basher and a Racer)

Well I had a shock cap break off my alloy BBs last race. Thankfully the cap off the plastic BBs I keep for field spares was a direct fit. Got a set of alloy HF caps on order now. DF

Flux XL (Basher and a Racer)

Make sure you get the longest hellfire shocks. They come in different lengths. The shorter ones may be too short unless you mod your suspension mount. Sweet stuff. Looking forward to racing you again this Feb :) btw Rohitx kicked my behind last race. :D DF

    Flux rebuild

Regarding thin lids ripping through. The LHS dude here recommended I tape up the entire lid with 2-3 layers of fiber reinforced tape. I did so, and the stocker's survived ok so far, even after high speed slides down tarmac on the roof. As for the 4mm pins. I'm looking for them too. I'm...

    Flux rebuild

Mighty fine ride there dude. Are you using an alloy horn? If you aren't I'd recommend getting a 3-way clamp on horn. That way even if you lose the main servo screw, the horn stays on. DF

My First RC truck - Savage Flux "XL"

Well the cup came in today. They are incompatible, being a touch smaller than the savage cups. I will be using a regular savage cup from IRC instead. DF

My First RC truck - Savage Flux "XL"

Updated first post with preliminary build pics of bare PRC chassis. Boca yellow seals also arrived last night. Waiting on the GH alloy steering post and servo saver before starting assembly proper. DF

SAVAGE XL, Camber & Caster adjustment

Regarding roll center - I used to flip over executing high speed turns without the RSC in place. Powersliding is the norm post RSC. My driving skills are still sorely lacking though. As for the tierods, there is no change to the mount points. The lunsford turnbuckles and rod ends will drop in...

SAVAGE XL, Camber & Caster adjustment

Oh wait. You mean the stock length lunsford turnbuckles for the tie rods? Those are way too long, and 1 mm too thin. The tie rod turnbuckles are M4/4mm thickness and are 60+mm long. I got my 5x38mm lunsfords through a webshop that happened to have them in stock. DF
