I'm upgrading the bulkhead but not sure which one to get. Th FLM looks good but lack of easy access. The GH has the easy access but doesnt look like it is cnc machined. and from what I have read, the quality of the machining (the tolerance is a bit off). The flux diff doesn't really fit in it...
Sorry guys, as english is not my first language, can you please elaborate what does sit flush means? does it mean that the top sun gear sits a little bit lower in the diff cup just like in the pic?
Thanks for the input guys. frddyj, is the hot racing kevlar gasket really good? read about it somewhere in this forum long time ago. Just not sure whether its really good or not.
Thanks frddy and hypnotiq.. I do realize that easy access would be an advantage but I prefer to put durability over anything else coz I bash my truck hard.. I don't mind spending time wenching to fix things though...
So which one do you think is the best in terms of durability?
Based on what Ive read, here are some of the differences between these two:
Golden Horizon (GH)= easy access
FLM= no easy access
GH= HPI steering conversion kit fits w/o modification.
FLM= Some minor modifications need to be done to fit the conversion kit
I don't really bother...
Anyone here using these parts together? I have just received my set and I was quit disappointed to find that there is too much play between the pinion and ring gear. Tried to shim the diff towards the pinion (left/right shimming) but then the bulkhead cant be closed properly. This is because the...
No I'm referring to the shafts. as stated by tower, they are 5mm, same thickness as FLUX dogbone. most 1/8th and MT use 8mm axle. the hub bearing size is 16x8x5. 8 being the inner diameter, 16 is the outer and 5 is the thickness.thus the axles are 8mm thick.
The shafts look beefy. According to tower, they are 5mm thick, about the same thickness as the FLUX dogbone. I'm interested to know about the durability too.
I'm going to upgrade my diff to BP crown and pinion gear set. But I'm wondering what is the best diff cup to be used. I know the HPI aluminum diff cup is really good but I'm not a fan of 10x16mm bearing. I prefer to use 8x16mm bearing since it is much stronger. Any input would be really much...
