Savage 4.6 questions

Well I got my first RC truck about a week or so ago. Its a savage x 4.6 RTR. I was wondering a few things. The brakes suck they wouldn't adjust far enough to do anything so I added a small piece of tubing which made it a little better. When I adjust them where it will stop really good they drag...
