i used 50wt and it was fairly stiff. i think 90wt would blow the shocks if you were to drop the truck or jump it either taht or it would just bend the shock shafts . Matt
the main problem was traction. on tarmac all fours tyres would spin up from stand still and start to grip mid 1st gearwhen front end would lift . and on grass . i think i will leave it at a 15t onthe front for now because of the punch it has from bottom and a good top end . and concentrate more...
my setup at the moment is a thunder tiger pro 28bx-r with hpi ribbed pipe and a motor saver filter with a cold air feed.Gearing is 15 tooth with standard spur .The suspension is lowered 3/4 of an inch.
Its got good acceleration but wont wheelie of the line but will come up easy enough mid...
i have used 15w/40 engine oil in my shocks, along with cooking oil,
the engine oil was ok and fairly firm not bad for on road and the cooking oil was a bit lighter which made it better for soaking bumps up . neither had any bad effects on the shocks and was worth the experiment lol .
i have been rebuilding my truck and cannot decide what to gear it for i can either go for
on road setup (18 tooth) with mild mid acceleration and good top speed and low suspension ( 1 or 1-1/2 inch drop) for handlind at higher speed
or
off road with (13 tooth) with rapis acceleration...
