spurs
Hey chronic ( nice name too )
The easiest way to mesh your gears is to take a piece of notebook paper and cut a 1 inch by 6 inch strip and fold long ways in half ( so it is 1/2 inch by 6 ) Feed it into your gears and take a screwdriver and push the engine block as much as possible...
It looks as though you have your answer, but I want to complicate things by telling you to buy the Axial .28 instead. They are both made by the same manufacturer and the Axial is about $70 cheaper. I just purchased and broke in the 1 spec engine and I absolutely love it. Good top end and you can...
yO CRASH......i AM ONLY 17 YRS OLD. shhhhhhh. Seriosly 12 miles away
Hey 89 Mine starts to idle a little higher too. Hope I can help. I noticed the same thing you are talkin' bout so I keep my idle just a tad low and start my sav with a little more throttle trim. You will prob keep the trim...
THANKS EVERYONE - I just got this down in the 260's with a couple adjustments. I try to answer all the questions in this thread.......
I am running medium plug
I could use a new exhaust gasket
I have about 7 tanks through it now
no air leaks
bolts are tight.
I figured I would get...
So i get this new Axial .28 right ? There is so much bottom end power, but whe I start to get to the 2nd gear shift point it boggs down. When i lean it out it performs great and shifts, but gets up to 300 degrees.
I hate tuning by temp b/c I spend more time tuning than driving. Do I:
A)...
I have heard conflicting stories on running fluid in the diffs.......HPI says to use grease, but some guys say to use fluid. What should I use ? I will be replacing my old diffs tonight and wanted to make sure I did it right.
So.........Fluid ? No Fluid ? If so what kind ?
Thanks again guys
I knew I could count count on you Crash ! I am actually really good at the spur /clutch meshing and I can not figure out why people have problems with it, but I always ALWAYS keep an extra spur around. Do you have a link to the diffs you speak so highly of ?
P.S spent about $270 at leisure...
As posted in a previous thread. I finished the breakin on my new Axial.28 and it has so much more power than my HPI .25 and I think that is where the problem is. It was not much of a problem during breaking b/c of the low RPMs, but under full throttlye (5th tank) You can hear a loud...
Hey guys I just got an Axial .28 and completed the break in cycle. I totally understand how to tune the HPI engines, but I need some info on the "mid range" needle on the axials. I am slowly starting to lean it out and wanted to know if I should adjust the mid range needle.
Thanks
I forgot you lived in tinley for a second. My buddy bought a revo 3.3 from hobbytown ( Garbage, but rediculously fast & quiet ) i like the set up both shops have. You can see all of the trucks side by side. My fav is still leisure hours. Scott really knows his sh$t. I hope all goes well this...
crash.
As far as the new engine is concerned I found an awesome hooby shop south of Chicago. It is a little further than some of the ones in the area, but these guys really know they're stuff and they will match online prices ! ( no e-bay ) They are the only ones in the area to have street...
Crash
looks good..........I'll let you knowhow everything turns out over the weekend. Any tips on breakin in the axial ? I know that it is not too common, but I am also running 15/52. How do you load a large picture too ?
Thanks for the feedback. I am torn between the Hpi 4.6 and the axial .28. From what I understand they are pretty similar. I might be using the engine exchange program for the 4.6. If there is a definate reason I should go with the axial let me know....Also I am currently running a 15 t clutch...
