Hpi Savage Flux plastic handling does not fit. Help please

I placed and orientated the rollbar in the best direction to fit the middle of the Baja bug shell roof. This body has a rounded shape which makes the front part of the roof to be higher than the back part (see pic in my avatar). It works fine as it is.

Will Savage Flux diffs fit into Savage X4.6 bulk heads

Hi, The Flux diffs use use heavy duty drive cups, the same as your Savage XL with a K5.9. If you want to keep those drive cups, you will have to upgrade the dog bones and the wheel axles to heavy duty types. The other option is to swap the heavy duty drive cups in the Flux diffs for the Savage...

Will Savage Flux diffs fit into Savage X4.6 bulk heads

Hi. The diff and pinion fit. But the drive cups are heavy duty types 86248 which have a larger inside (for fitting the larger ends of heavy duty dog bones). If you have Savage X4.6 drive cups 86064 you can use them in this diff case instead of the heavy duty types.

    tyres and wheels

Hi, you have to look for 2,2" wheels. Those are for 1/10 or 1/12 scale and normaly come with 12mm hex, which will fit on your XS.

How to convert Savage XL to electric?

Well done. The nitro XL comes with sintered pinion and diff gear. You will have to change those to the forged type when they wear out. The stock esc is a rebranded 150A hobbywing QUICRUN-WP-8BL150. You can also use the EZRUN Max8 V3 150A if you want to have extreme punch. Both can handle 6S. The...

How to convert Savage XL to electric?

Hi, I have three different converted Savages. A Savage 21, an Octane and one with purple XL TVPs. I had to drill the holes for the battery trays. I made my own motor mount adadpters but this is not easy (better look for some already designed type available for your rig). The remaining...

HPI Racing is bringing back the Savage!

They finally got rid of the black wheel nuts and this time they didn´t forget to fit a roll bar:D Hopefully they will also include some innovations in the transmission like a center diff or cushdrive.

8BL150A esc 4 blinks green led problem

Hi. This is a known issue with hobbywing escs. One of the first things that I tried was recalibrating them with theottle set to neutral.. Mine are out of warranty.. Since many similar cases have been reported after driving in cold or wet conditions, I will leave them a couple of weeks exposed to...

8BL150A esc 4 blinks green led problem

Hi all. I have 2 hobbywing 8BL150A escs with the same problem. Green led blinks four times and it does not perform the initial lip cell count and the motor does not move. Some sort if protecion is active. The programming card is not recognised. When any of the three motor wires is disconnected...

    Weak power to the rear

Savage XS slipper pads get soft and deformate when they get wet. They are hard to access because many parts have to be removed. I made leather slipper pads to avoid this. If slipper pads are bad you will loose power at both front and rear wheels. If you are only experiencing problems with the...

    Silicone adhesive for glueing tyres

Hi I have some old hard rubber tyres that don't sit well on the rims. There is a too big gap for CA glue to fill. Now there are adhesive silicones which I am about to try. Just wondered if anyone has done this before.

    Savage flux 9t bevel gear

The first ones I tried about two years ago were not HR make and they did rub inside the old style diff case. I had to dremmel about 1mm off the top of one of the internal bumps (see picture).

recommendations on budget 2.4 ghz transmitters?

I have some TTX-300 and a flysky GT3 and they are ok. After seeing some reviews I have just bought a flysky GT5 because you can use one transmitter for several cars and its got advanced functions, but haven't tested it yet. Flysky recievers are not expensive and the one that comes with the...

    Savage flux 9t bevel gear

Hi. They have the HR logo although they are not publicited as Hot racing or any other trade mark. I got it from a Chinese web and they sell them as: "#105551 #102692 Hard Steel 8T-26T Differential Ring Pinion Gear Set For RC Car Racing HPI 1/8 Savage Flux HP XL 5SC 5.9 3.5 SS" They match with...

    Savage flux 9t bevel gear

Hi guys, I got fed up of replacing bullet proof pinions. The last three I had to change had the same problem: One broken tooth. The teeth in these pinions are too much thinned at their base (anyone can explain the reason for this?) and thats the weak point were they are cracking. I am changing...

Savage XS Flux Vapor Pro ESC Blinking Green Light

Hi. Check that the throttle trim is set to 0. If it still doesn't work you may need to recalibrate the ESC. This is what I remember from when I had one in my XS. Vapor pro is a Castle Sidewinder with a fan. Instructions, programming card and error messages are the same for both. There is a lot...

Hpi Savage Flux plastic handling does not fit. Help please

Hi. It is puzzling that Savage XL comes without a rollbar. You can adapt the HP roll bar that you have. To do this you must cut the side and bottom border rebounds (leave the top one) and drill one additional hole in each TVP (One of the TVP holes can be used for fixing both the roll bar and...

    O-Ring Question

Hi, It doesn´t have to do with power. Although axles, dogbones, A-arms, etc are the same for front and rear, rear A-Arms have a greater toe-in. This may require a different adjustment for the rear dogbones. At this point my knowledge has reached its limit ;)

    O-Ring Question

Hi Baris41. Normally Orings are used to limit the movement of the dogbones inside the drive and axle cups so that they do not pop out when steering or when A-arms move up or down. Probably they use less compressive material (Orings instead of foams) for those points where it is important that...
