    Savage XS videos

I'm back! Albeit temporarily.... Had some good bashing out a few weeks ago: The T-Bone Thrasher bumpers you guys made me get were great, I'm sure they helped a lot. Edit: Also CVDs are really useful, no poppage at all.

    Savage xs slipper pads destroyed

My slipper lasted 20 packs or so IIRC?? Car took a lot of abuse but not running very continually each time...

How many Rc's do you have?

HPI Savage XS 1/12 Himoto brushless / Maverick Ion 1/18 (potentially good basher, keep breaking it) Carisma GT24TR 1/24 (very cheap and capable brushless, fragile tho) Losi Micro Truggy brushless conversion 1/24 (not cheap but really good at the size) GPToys S607 1/24 (going to get rid of cos...

    Best Servo to use?

I've been running the one vetteheigh linked, it works well, maybe 60% more power than the stock one?

Big Joes are the business. Keep the stock for drifting / donutting on gravel and dirt though :) Big Bud, ripping out the suspension arm and bending the pin was my 2nd proper breakage. It does take a bit of stripping down to get the next pin and arm in but it all works fairly smoothly. FWIW...

Savage xs T-bone racing wheelie bar

T Bone Thrasher bumpers are well reputed, I assume the wheelie bar would be just as good. Give it a go.

Yup you missed the bit where you bash the absolute poop out of it and then post a video of all the abuse it gets :D

    Bumper options??

Nope.....but now you need to find somewhere else to screw that piece on, just for fun.

Traxxas Turnbuckles Camber Link 36mm (#2443)

Never had a problem with the turnbuckles. They pop out sometimes as they're designed to, but never broken nor bent one. I would recommend painting the middle black section with a bright colour in case they fully ping out and you lose one in the field (nearly happened to me twice, damn those...

Big Joe's 2.2 wont fit hex

The spare plastic ones that should have come with the car. If they didn't, they are part of the steering saver set sprue: http://www.wheelspinmodels.co.uk/i/116846/

If it's the stock white shell I will actually cry though :argh: P.S. That reminds me I need to reinforce the small crack in mine. Ta.

vettehigh , with all of these serious upgrades, I hope you are going for a new bodyshell in bright gold, chrome, or something really ott like: And we'll need pictures in the sticky thread once it's all done

Big Joe's 2.2 wont fit hex

Well, the stock hubs (i.e. the metal ones, and both types of plastic ones that come with the car) DON'T have grub screws. I've had *one* wheel come loose in 20-25 batteries worth of driving/abusing the car and the hub didn't come off - the various stock hubs fit pretty tight over CVT axles...

New to RC / Savage XS - what parts / maintenance do I need??

Major stripping over the last few days. Pretty much the only thing I didn't go into was taking the inner diff cogs out, and the steering area as that seemed fine. As well as general checking / cleaning (got about 1/2 kilo of misc dirt and pebbles out of it): Thoroughly nitro-cleaned all...

    Straight Up!

Just wondering about the lower suspension arms? I have a bit of play in mine especially around the holes the lower suspension pins go into. Might something like this help: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Integy-T5011GREY-Billet-Machined-Suspension/dp/B00XQ9CABO/ ?
