The past few months I have been workin on building another "foldable" ramp to fit in the trunk of our car. There used to be a thread on here that I started when I made the last one, but it seems to be gone. The original one I made can't fit in the trunk without having to fold the backseat down...
Who makes the capra & night crawler? The RC4WD Trail Finder 2 (TF2) is leaf spring, but in stock form doesn't have great flex (articulation). There's a few free/cheap mods to add more flex. But, the RC4WD Gelande 2 is links. Haven't fully looked into it and how much flex it has. I've also been...
What type of scale look? Links or leafs? The TRX6 is basically a TRX4 with a second rear axle. RC4WD, Axial, G-Made would be my top 3 choice manufacturers. Redcat would be next in line.
I've only ran Hitec servos. The ones in my savvy now are 10+ yrs old and still kickin. I've heard good things about savox. That's the best I can help with.
Moo, which style of gears do you have? They are both 2sp gear sets. The one on the right is a newer one compared to the left one. The left one with the "enclosed" clutch holder has twice as much play as the one on the right with the "open" clutch holder. I may be able to get a vid later today to...
Don't forgot about Axial SCX10 II & the new SCX10 III. If your not wanting to go the scale route, then look into comp type crawlers. Those are the ones that'll have more articulation from the research I've done lookin into crawler. MOA crawlers can offer more control and maneuverability cuz you...
Thanks @ELWOOD for the diagram. I didn't have the time to try and go through all that in my original post. Plus, I do everything on my phone instead of an actual comp.
Not too sure about that. I can check the gear set that I have and see if it does the same thing later tonight. I don't run the 2sp, but have the gears for it. Cheaper to buy a whole trans from ebay back in the day than to just buy the case itself.
Sounds like a pinned grub screw is missing from one of the drive cups on the rear center dogbone. Either the hex shaped drive cup for the brakes on the trans or the drive cup on the diff pinion. Check those fitst.
The plastic rod ends are popping off the ball? If that's the case, place a washer large enough to stop the rod end from coming off. Just make sure it's not too big to interfere with any movement. Been doin that for a while now when I started havin the same problem with the stock ones.
My son's Losi Strike is a 2wd SC truck and sometimes has a tendency to lawn dart on jumps. Also could have to do with ramp design also. But, I also have the ESC programmed at 60% full forward since he's only 6 and still in the learning stages.
