I was not a basher when I used them. I was into track racing at that point. High flying the toy came about a year later ... If you or anyone ever needs spare parts for them PM me I have 3 sets over here in a box. This is not a give away so no pms looking to get freebies... but if you break them...
I used the 11lb spring from Losi (yellow) the sliver and black are around 5 lb ( 4 and 5 if I remember right). Been a long time since I put them up and went with a truggy shock. I used oils from 30 to 60 then drilled out the pistons and was never happy with the results.
I wish I could help...
I like IRC design. I also like to keep my money and warranty in the US and not deal with lame shipping issues. SO, 50/50 on that one. If you can bend or break one or the other you hit something all wrong...
There should be some end play in the bell. Yes, that spur will always shred the non-racing (vented) bells. No, a lil wobble wont make it happen. All my spurs wobble...
lol it will. But you can still do it. the hot rage plug is just that it burns "hot". Cold is cooler and flames out easier. Its like advancing/retarding timing on a 1:1 but all will work
Put it in with just the bell crank post screws and see where it wants to sit natural. That will let you see it in a new light.
Take the pressure off it by loosening the tvp screws a bit. If the TVPS are squeezing it it wont sit right doing what I just said ..
yep, goes right over the top of the part you ground down... looking for pics now
NVM look up at the last pic I posted above it shows it over the top of it ...
you can use any plug you wish. There is no "rules" to it.
A hot plug is good for noobs during run in but can also cause damage in the same right as some don't know to not let it spool up the RPM with the hot plug and they let it detonate...
They have been selling used lately but yes they are all hand made by him. As of the last time I spoke to him (about 2 weeks) He has a herniated disk in his back. I don't know how long he will be down.
If it was shimmed you found your issue...
with the HPI HD spur the only clutch bell it wont shred is a vented racing bell. Even the HPI HD metal bell will rip up. That spur will last the rest of the trucks life no matter what you do to it ...
Google it for best definition. Same as in a 1:1 car so don't matter what you read ..
Detonation is when the fuel explodes erratically instead of burning smoothly. It occurs when there is too much heat and compression in the combustion chamber. It is similar to preignition, but preignition is...
What do you mean here ?????? IF the mesh is ok I'm with Mick on this Id blame the motor plate. Seeing it has a .32 on it Id say it has a good chance its bent..... Like Mike Also said Racing bells only on the hpi hd spur ...
How did you fix the steering issue ? I moved the servo on both my nitro and flux to be in alignment.
This is pics of the flux plate, same thing with a extra hole and made to sit low in the rear ... Did the same to my Nitro 250 plate
Before I recessed the screws on top...
This shows...
