seriously think about getting the combo set , I am running a 48/16 also have the 15 and 17 hard bells just to play with gearing a bit , but my X with an Axial .32 does really well on a 48/16 i have...
Ok thats cool, did you try cleaning the 1 way in some motor spray or denatured alcohol, I clean mine with DNA and use a toothpick tool to put some red grease down into the rollers inside, i go all the way around the inside of the bearing , it helps it to not absorb the oil from the engine which...
I have to ask why use a racing clutch when the stock clutch setup with alloy shoes works so well??? you can find the Savage XL 3 shoe setup on places like e bay or amazon for pretty decent prices.....
I always hated reverse in Nitro vehicles, they always act up and need fiddling with.... my solution to no reverse is to not get into a situation where it is necessary and I bring my kids along so they can get me out of a jam :)
I am using the 48/16 RR combo on mine with a stock HPI slipper setup, I locked it down (spring fully compressed) when I build it a long time ago and it has not given one problem to me and it still slips and keeps my gears safe even with it locked down tight....

Haven't seen this before, I have a 16 and a 17 RRP bells and the bearings i have fit them both pretty good and snug...... have you contacted them about this, it could be just a bad one that got thru... I know they will want to see pics so include those with your e mail.....
Only wrong thing I see is you are using that heavy brass bushing at the end of the bell, that alone will wear the bearings quickly, I was told by Mickey a long time ago to substitute a piece of fuel tube in place of it, so I did as he said and it actually works very well.....
