While I haven't had any problems with the preloads, I'd rather have threaded shocks. I don't like that HPI took the cheap route and used preloads and plastic shock caps.

I wouldn't bother, with the money your going to spend on a new piston and sleeve. Just buy a new one on SMF for 100 bucks. If you want you could always still put the turbo head in the new one if it's only 16 bucks.
