    Thanks Guys. Jason the cylinder wall looks smooth. I can not see any scratches. I was not sure if it should be tight at the top of the stroke but what you said makes sense. I will get a new gear and rotostart shaft and put it back together. Hope it runs lol .

    Tryed to start my savage ( Savage X 4.6 ) today. Turned over a couple times. Rotostart seemed to be jammed. The pin on the end of the rotostart had sheered off. Took the motor out and removed the rotostart backing plate. The small gear was broke in half. I am a newbee so I am not sure if there...
