    Topless pics

Yeah, it's sad. They went under about 8-9 yrs ago. That's how long I've had them. It's probably gonna be even harder now to find tires that will fit them. I had a hard time finding the Pro-line badlands that are on there now. And yes, 0 offset when installed one way and 1/2" offset the other...

Olds, yes they are reversible. They are Blue Groove dual offset rims. Sadly, they (Blue Groove) are no longer around. I was lucky enough to get a extra set of 4 before they went out of business.

    Basher LiHV 6600 40C?

I don't remember. I don't have a full size flux, I have the XS (the small one), but basically the same thing. I think I had mine set at either 3.2 or 3.4 volts.

    HPI savage Flux XS battery

I would stay away from runnin a 3s battery pack. It's brutal on the drive train. Trust me, I have an XS and just replaced the rear pinion & ring gear, front & rear center drive cups on the diffs, and quite a few pinions and trans gears. Also have to replace the bearings that go on each side of...

    Basher LiHV 6600 40C?

I think you should be ok with that battery too. If your worried about over discharging it while runnin, you can always use the castle link to program a custom LVC .25-.50 volts higher than normal.

Never messed with Nova motor. But, would like to get a modded one in the future. Anyways, back on topic, alot of members have givan alot of useful tips and suggestions. The only suggestion I see that hasn't been mentioned is to make sure you prime the engine before tryin to start it. Too much...

    What Shock Towers to use

I would stick with the stock plastic. Alum towers have no flexibility and also bend easy. You could switch to carbon fiber if you can find some for the savage, but modifications to make them work will be in order.

    Saving Weight on the XL

Also, stick to the steel gears. The weight savings between the steel and alum gears won't make up for the durability between the 2. You have to remember thatcalum is a lot softer metal than steel and with the abuse we put the trucks through, the alum won't last as long.

    Saving Weight on the XL

Change all alum flat parts to carbon fiber. TVPs, motor mount plate, bulkhead plate. Also shock towers can be swapped for carbon fiber hellfire towers if you can find them.

RC4WD Trail Finder 2 rtr truck

Lookin good Jam. The parts they cone up and out with for the scale look crowd is insane. I've seen some on Ebay where the motor, trans, & x-fer case look like the reak thing. I even seen an add on kit to make it look like it has a real lookin & workin cooling fan and serpentine belt.

RC4WD Trail Finder 2 rtr truck

Nice score of waffle wins Jam. Scale truck is lookin good too. I've always wanted to get a crawler. More purpose built than looks which is why I'd want to get a MOA crawler. But, those are harder to find since everybody is goin for the "scale look" these days.

rc4me center diff Super 5SC transmission in my HPI Savage Flux HP

That's exactly what I was talkin about. I got mine from a home goods type store. I can't remember the name of the store though. And the Naptha is used to thin oil based stains for staining wood and use of stains in a sprayer.

rc4me center diff Super 5SC transmission in my HPI Savage Flux HP

I use the same thing, VM&P Naptha. Been usin that to clean anything that uses shock or diff for a long time. I usually pour some in a cup and I bought one of those ball shaped, spring loaded tea infusers to put the gears in and what ever else I could fit in there to be cleaned. Not all at once...

    Savage 6768 CD Parts build

Also, another trick when building your diffs that I learned from a racer is to coat the O-rings with a extremely heavier oil than what you use to fill the diff or something specifically made to coat them to help seal around them better. I've rebuilt diffs and used brand new O-rings only to have...

    Savage 6768 CD Parts build

I suggest trying to stick with Mugen for your diff oils. They are pretty dead on with their oils when they are tested for viscosity. Same goes for their shock oil. Which both are measured by wt instead of cst, I believe. I read an article that was posted on here yrs ago about shock oil...

    Savage 6768 CD Parts build

I know its probably an old mod but might try the silicone putty ear plug method ? What do you mean silicone putty ear plug method? Never heard of that, but been out the RC game for awhile.
