    Doesn't look too bad, could use a good cleanin though. What does the top of the piston look like? How are the outside temps & humidity when your tryin to crank it? Try the needle settings next time and maybe just slightly open the carb a little more to keep it runnin.

    How do the internals look? Rusty, corroded, worn out? How the compression on the motor? It'll be a little harder to check the compression with a rotostart cuz you can't slowly turn it over like you can with a pull start. Look into that & maybe make and post a video of what it's doin might help...

    I read through my build thread and found what the size of the rims are. They are 3.2 and now just have to see if I can actually find some tires for them.

    A can of VM&P Naptha would last quite a while. Can use it for just about anything. Best stuff to use to clean diff and shock oil.

    I have to try and find some tires that will fit my spare set of blue groove rims. Can't remember the size, but it was the standard size before 3.8 became the standard.

    Could use a dremel with a cut wheel. Then the small sanding wheel/drum to clean it up.

    Definitely sounds like a OWB issue. Could either be the OWB slipping or the shaft the OWB grabs onto is worn down. Pull it apart and inspect it. Post some pics of the shaft the OWB grabs. Soak and clean the OWB with either brake cleaner or VM&P Naptha.

    What did you do to your HPI Savage today?

    The rims are Blue Groove dual offset and yes, 17mm hex. I wish you good luck trying to find some. Blue Groove went out of business almost 10 yrs ago. And the tires are Pro-Line badlands.

    Yes, the badlands are an excellent choice. That's what I currently run and good grip on just about any surface. But, my experience is with nitro and not brushless.

    Yes they will work. The steering knuckle and hubs are the same on all the savage models. And on a side note, that's the ONLY part from Integy that I would use.

    I can't help too much in regards to what batteries to use cuz I don't have a flux xl, only the baby XS. I've had good luck with batteries from HobbyKing.com and most of there batteries are priced really good. I would suggest that the battery is at least 50C rated and get a dual output charger...

    Almost that whole night of runnin the truck, it was runnin rich. As the temp went down when it got later towards nighttime, it started to lean out more. That's the one thing that sux about runnin nitro in northeast fl, temp and humidity can change drastically in a a matter of minutes.

    FLM Savage big block XL build

    Nice lookin savage jssouth. Just a couple words of caution, watch when usin those alum a-arms. I've seen way to many members on here in the past run with alum arms then switch back to stock when they consistently tear bulkheads. They don't have the "flex" like plastic on those bad landings.
