1/2" offset pushed the wheels out giving you a wider wheelbase. You'll gain a 1" wider stance using thise hex adapters. But, they look like they need to be used with certain rims. I can't remember if I've ever stripped the hex out on a rim or not. Been QUITE awhile since I've been in the RC...
The info previously stated is great advice. But, to answer your question about the motor, it's looks to be the F4.6 stock motor. I could be wrong though. But, it also looks like a non-X version savage also judging by the trans box, so it may be a an older savage 25 too.
Not anymore. I just found the thread I started with the MPH test runs I did. Top speed then was 41.4MPH. I'm gonna try and post a link to the thread. If it doesn't work, the thread title is
"Top speed of my old-skool mid-tank savvy"...
Like Jam said, crank down on the nut and run it with no slip. I added a drop of blue "removable" lock-tite to guarantee it didn't loosen up on its own. Also, with a locked down slipper, make sure when you land a jump that your not on the throttle.
Side question @ Jam 1 = Are you the original...
Haven't been on this site for AWHILE now. I've tested the top speed of mine before years ago with a handheld gps tracker and it was 36 or 37 MPH with a slightly modded Axial .28 & 3 speed. And this was before the high speed 3rd gear set came out. Haven't ran the truck for a couple yrs but...
The crankcase of a big block motor is the same across the board. It's the internals that make up the sizes (displacement) of the motors, I.E. .21, .25, .28, .32
I have Cen GST 7.7 alum shocks on mine which are very similar to the BB, just a little shorter in length. Also git Hellfire springs for them. I used 35wt oil in mine. Truck handles good with that set-up. I also installed a short pc of tubing (automotive vacuum tubing) on the shock shaft between...
Let us know how it goes if you get some. And yeah, really bummed that Byron's went out of business. Best fuel I've used. Luckily, I still 1 1/2 gals left. Probably gonna switch to VP fuel cuz of the low oil content.
Tal, that's the part you need. You may be able to just replace thw screw and the sleeves may still be good. If you have an old .28 size motor that's no good, you may be also able to use it from that. Also make sure to seal up the motor if it's out if the truck. Plenty of threads on here about...
Pelican, Olds is right about the plugs. Air temp doesn't determine plug temp. It's based of nitro % and motor size. I'm runnin a slightly modded Axial 28 on 30% (Byron's til they went out of business) and used a cold plug (McCoy MC9) year round.
On a side note, where'd you find McCoy plugs @...
I've tried the Integy MSR4s when they came out 13 yrs ago, bent a 2 shock shafts on a 5ft high jump with a good landing. Then tried the MSR5s, .5mm larger dia shaft than the 4s. Bent one first time bashing. Then tried the MSR6s W/5mm dia shaft, bent those. Went back to a 8 shock stock setup for...
Moo, the Nova mount has fixed mounting holes for the motor and where it's mounted to the engine plate, those are slotted to make front/rear adjustments. The slots are grooved on the top side to allow a nut to fit in and not spin when tightening up the screws from the under side like normal. The...
