Hey folks, had an idea that I wanted to float. I got the hpi big bores on a new X SS I just built. I really liked the setup on my flux and wanted them for the nitro truck as well. Got to thinking that it might add something to the suspension setup by running a regular savage shock without the...
Never thought to use alum. foil around the head, good idea! But I will go one further.. there is a type of tape that is a bit more rugged than alum. foil that is sticky on one side that I bet would work especially good. I have to run my trucks in the cold these days and with the mention of the...
I concur... have been running the lst's and the IRC kit for about 10 tanks for fuel and so far not one problem. I also like the simplicity of it... four shocks instead of 8. You could save some money by running the plastic shocks from the other Losi trucks but you should definately get the IRC...
the wheel size is a means of adjusting how far back the truck wheelies, I don't believe it has anything to do with what terrain you are wheelying on. I suppose the bigger wheel means it doesn't weeble around as bad on rough terrain.. but either way it will bump around on rough terrain in wheelie...
I have used the Easy Off in the yellow can, it says "heavy duty". It worked great on the HPI stock aluminum items, but then, some other manufacturers anodizing is a little thicker and more difficult. But the yellow can easy off should work. Will be doing that to the hpi conversion kit I will be...
Direct drive huh? Makes sense... when you run a big enough engine, you have to tighten the darn thing up tighter than normal to keep it from slipping anyways. Too bad there wasn't some way to have springs involved to soak up impact energy.. kinda like the springs in a car clutch disk. As for...
Hey Doobee... if you go to the galleries and look in JT's gallery, he has pics of the LST setup... you can get an idea of how those shocks will look. PRetty sweet, can't wait to get mine up and running. Got all the pieces, just need the time.
Spektrum... fail safe built into the reciever, no interferance, automatic frequency choice, no glitching because of metal on metal contact.. Spektrum.. spend the money, you won't be dissapointed!
Nope, haven't tried polishing them, that might be an idea down the road though. I have run them for quite some time on a savage X non-SS with nova shock towers and four shock ofna setup.. that setup road very nice and held up good. I am currently have all the parts to upgrade to the LST shock...
yeah, that was my situation as well.. i had mine for a while with plans on putting them on my savage but didn't get around to it till now. As far as which shocks to put on which truck.. i would say put the Integy on the heavier of the two, i don't know which it would be. The extra oil would come...
I think it ends up being about 40 bucks american.. IRC is a british business. I got mine through ebay, they have an ebay store. From what i can see, they are very well built. Also, new era models also has something similar, for about the same price. But new era's setup doesn't use a double...
Actually, from what i have heard and seen, the LST shocks on the savage is the hot setup. I have had many probs with the stocks shocks. After joining this forum i realized that perhaps i had a little too thick a fluid in them. However, since then I have purchased the LST shocks and the IRC...
Have any of you folks seen the new DX3r radio by spektrum! SWeeeetttt! I did a bit of research and couldn't find out if the old receivers would work with the new radio. I wonder if anyone has a bead on this issue? That would be my only concern. Otherwise, i am getting a DX3 with two receivers...
If you look in the forum under JT's mods... there is a thread titled "blue streak". He has the LST setup. You can see how they are mounted and then decide which parts of that you would need to cure your clearance issues. I would think using some spacers where the shock mounts at the tower, and...
thanks for the feedback guys. I have a second vehicle that i could put the OS in, and would save the new .32 for the SS i am building.. so the OS would have a home. But you know how it is, there's always something better out there. I guess what i was looking for was someone to say that the...
Yeah, my experiance is that about the most reliable item you can buy is the failsafe... so if it was "working" so close to you, might point to a low battery situation or poor range of your reciever or radio. I know most of us don't do range checks on our radios like the guys flying planes do...
Its always something ain't it Doobeewha! I looked into those shocks and thought that the thickness might turn into an issue, so i went with the LST setup. Perhaps some thicker shock standoffs up top and a space on bottom might help things a bit? Also, IRC sells individual pieces of the LST shock...
Guys, i have a OS .30 VG that i am currently running in a Savage x ss... I was wondering if anyone thought it would be worthwhile to upgrade to a .32 size in the axial or Surefire? I know these engines have more ports, which usually means more top end. But will the addition of .02 cc and the...
I too am relatively new to the forum and have had a great experiance here! My thanks go out to the guys as well. Just remember one thing Newbie... stay patient. you might have some hiccups at first as you learn how to tune etc., but if you stick with it, its a great hobby and as you'll find...
