By the way, I also noticed that there are no shims for the cylinder head, but I can't verify if it is supposed to or not. Does HPI include a exploided view of the motor. Can't find mine.
OK I'm going to try tonight when I get home from work. Of course that piston has to be near the top of the stroke in order for the rod to clear the track/groove.
OK guys I was going to take my piston and sleeve out of my K 4.6 but could not get the piston out. Sleeve came right out (being that it is so new) it just pulled right out of the top. Can't seem to get the piston out. I wiggled and tugged and pulled (ever so gently) I know that sounds bad...
Hey guys I'm at work right now but I think I have a temporary fix for the slop everyone is experiencing. Well I know I shouldn't post anything without a picture but here is what I did. I took the stock rubber Diff cup O-ring (just one for each shock) and put one between the shock and the two...
Cool! I'll go see what I can find. I'm sure that I will never use up a tube like that in a life time. But I'll never have to buy another tube ever again. :)
OK guys not the biggest deal in the world but is there any place, like an auto parts store that I can just buy a larger tube of this stuff? Hate spending like $2.50 a tube for the stuff when I can get 50 X's more for about the same price. I didn't know what the specs on the grease were...
Yes thank you I read through that thread and stated shimming. I noticed that I can't seem to find the .01mm shims that I need so I'll contact distrait and see what he wants for them. I never had to shim my diffs in my old 25 before.
Well I noticed that the Savage X kit has a spare parts bag and I found the shims I need to shim the case. Yes If I'm correct in saying this the shim goes on the diff case then the bearing. (bearing moved away from the diff case) hope thats right. I'm ****ed because I don't have the shims I...
Well I was going to shimm the diffs in my Savage X and noticed that there are no shims between the ring gear and bearing. I read through the posts and well here is the link that Jeremy gave me. http://www.midmad.com/ek4/shim/ek4shim.html you can see from the pic that there are two shims on the...
Just starting my build of my Savage X SS. Got it for Christmas and just getting around to it. Anyway, I was wondering what weight Diff Fluid should I be using? All I'm doing is bashing and don't know which weight I should go with.
I'm no expert but it sounds like you might need to adjust your linkage. I would also check that gap again in the carb. If I'm not mistaken I think you need to adjust the gap a bit so your carb doesnt close when you hit the brakes.
I had the same problem with my savage some time ago. Once I had that LSN adjust correctly it stoped stalling. But like they guys have said adjust in very small amounts I have learned the hard way turning my needles like an oven nob. Now I just turn like 1/16th turns until I have it just...
Thanks guys. I'm going to try it anyway just to see. I'm also taking all points of view concidering everyone has an opinon. Thats why I ask questions. I appreciate everyones advise. I already brought the filter so I might as well try it out. I have had stone filters in the past and never...
