    not doing wheelies anymore

Ok, good to hear that you think it is not my wheels, tires, or gearing. I will re-tune it next time I take it out. How lean are we talking here? and what temps?

    not doing wheelies anymore

Well the main change I guess would be going from an F4.6 w/plastic pipe to the K4.6 w/polished pipe. Gearing has always been 17/47 before and after rebuild except I switched to the vented 17t clutch. Changed from stock GT2 tires w/warlock rims to the maximizers w/zombies. I changed the grease...

    not doing wheelies anymore

Well I finally finished my rebuild and the truck is not pulling wheelies like it used to. Do I need lower gearing? currently 17/47.....If not the gearing is it just my tuning? For example, how lean do I need to go? Could my new heavier wheels/tires or exhaust pipe be the issue? I have...

    My new ramp

Nice ramp you got there! LOL, Is that an ice cream truck I hear in the background of the second video? I also just built myself a new ramp today. Got the plans from HERE Got everything I needed at Rona and then assembled at home, cost me about $80 for the wood, hinges, screws, and chain.

    Tricks To Stop Ballooning

Tested non taped versus taped and it makes a BIG difference. The two layers of duct tape on the inside of the tire stopped the ballooning. Next I will try one layer of tape on the remaining two tires in order to compare it to the two layered. I am curious to know how ballooning affects...

    Tricks To Stop Ballooning

windjammr, I took the front tires off to see if the duct tape stayed on and quickly found out that I had accidentaly put the two duct taped tires on the rear :slapped: So that explains why the front tires were still ballooning :duh: I will have to try again tomorrow with the duct taped...

    Tricks To Stop Ballooning

And perhaps you also have a good example of tires with tape? Edit: Just put two layers of duct tape on inside of the tire and re-installed. Just the fronts for now. Going to try them out. I keep you guys updated on how it works.

    Tricks To Stop Ballooning

Ok, I will try some tape. What do I do if a couple of the beadlock hex screw heads are rounded out instead of a hex shape?

    Tricks To Stop Ballooning

I just got the Zombies and some Maximizer beadlocks and I used the Panther green molded foam. If I am doing some doughnuts and one of the front tires lifts off the ground it turns into a pizza cutter. Please tell me, Is this the same as the ballooning effect that you are talking about...

    My new wheel/tire setup

Got the Panther green molded foams and determined that I had to slice off about a 1/4 inch of foam from each side in order to fit the Zombies. I tried to use them without trimming and the tire was so streched that in order to get the rim on I would have had to compress the foam down quite a...

    My new wheel/tire setup

I was wondering if the the tire tread needs to be going in a particular direction, like directional tires on 1:1? I am very curious to find out what the Panther molded green foams are going to be like. Anyone use them yet? If I don't like the molded foams I will do the duck tape around...

    My new wheel/tire setup

Got some new Zombie-Max tires and 17mm 1/2in. offset Maximizer beadlocks. Haven't mounted them yet. Going to get some Panther F105 molded foam inserts for them. I am stoked to try the new setup on my Savage. Anyone else run the same setup? How was it for you? Cheers!

    Diff rebuild with homemade gaskets

Assembled the diff and sealed it using a gasket and some gasket maker and sure enough once the screws were tightened it was turning just as smooth as the other diff in which I did not use a gasket but only gasket maker.

    Diff rebuild with homemade gaskets

All four spiders and cross pins were flush and turning fine when the screws were not in, it was after I tightened the screws down when the gears locked up, which is why I think it is a spacing issue between the two halfs of the diff. Thus the need for a gasket. And the gear mesh we are...

    Diff rebuild with homemade gaskets

Ya my diff case doesn't move like that, only my drive cups can move in and out about 1mm or less, there is no play between the bearings and the case like shown in the video. The diff that I assembled and sealed using only gasket maker is showing no signs of binding. It is ready to go in the...

Engine Debate - Picco vs. Axial vs. LRP

Whipnet, check out the avatar pic. You can see the chunk missing from the block of the F4.6 Landing a 30ft jump onto pavement head first at a skatepark won't prolong engine life. :duh:

Engine Debate - Picco vs. Axial vs. LRP

There is some really good stuff in this thread. Good responses. Picco P3 wins the debate.... :FarleyParty: I was all set to pick up a Picco P3 when I came to the conclusion that my driving and tuning skills were not up to the level needed to operate it (1.5 gallons of experience). A...

    Diff rebuild with homemade gaskets

Kind of like the thing this guy is talkg about in this thread https://www.hpisavageforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4451 and this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xgMNRTG5ybY I can move the drive cups side to side a little bit, but it doesn't seem to have an effect on the gear mesh...
