There was a conversation a while back about converting the Octane into brushless here, but unfortunately there isn't a conversion kit available.
The process is pretty straight forward, the hardest thing you'd have to do is make a motor mount for your electric engine.
Sure the Savage has some age on it, but obsolete I don't think so. Even as old as the platform is, it's still pretty popular.

Well this sucks and is certainly something you don't like hearing - Hobbico is filing for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy.
Hobbico distributes over 150 brands and 30 proprietary brands that include Arrma, Axial, Flyzon, Futaba, Great Planes, Dynamite, and many more.
My first recommendation would be the Losi 5ive-T, then Vekta.5 and finally the DBXL - all three are very capable 1/5 scale RC's.

@Dem I would check and make sure your servo horn hasn't been stripped or loose. If you're looking to upgrade the servo anyways then check out the Savox SW-0231MG.
@Virgilbigfish I'd start by setting the needles all back to factory settings and go from there. Also double check and make sure fuel isn't be leaked out anywhere from the fuel tank, lines, or engine itself.
