one is probably tapered. depending on how its oriented, its adds an amount of dampening in one direction without compromising the action in the opposite direction

The 1717 is probably rated for more rpm. going by the specs of the bearings and magnet quality its probably good to near 70,000rpm.
BUT since its intended to be run with the Mamba monster, they limit the voltage to suit the esc.

Get some boat motors- 700 series.
The transmissions(in general- not sure on your model number) are drilled for different sized motors etc. If not a simple aluminum adapter plate would work.
Get 8th'' aluminum plate drill its 3mm holes spaced correctly for your motor...
They funded the main steel chassis- all the running gear is spares from our robotics team
