Would you buy a first gen savage with $1000 in alloy upgrades for $350. All the upgrades are mint but oldshcool first gen bling like the bulkheads and trans all are the old 21/25 style... It dose have good modern tires and a better 28 engine worth at least $350

The thing is... I already got two nice nitro savages a xl and X both with all the right mods to make it better but still keep it somewhat light weight. The all alloy bling unit would be more for show and just short joy rides.

So get a good deal or keep saving for something else, what you think?

That is gonna depend on you, personally I would rather have something that I can run without worrying about messing up some blingy parts......

I wish I could find a decent XL for sale . Alloy is probably one of the worst things you could do to an RC rig unless you're building a queen..

Any chance of posting some pics? I might be interested in giving you your money back plus a finder's fee if it has some of the "New Era Models" pieces I need for the twin build I'm getting ready to start. Please and thank you,Stan O.
I'll have to post some pics of the stuff I have in a separate build thread as I don't want to take over this one. Maybe I'll get lucky and a member has me covered.

I will say that for most of RC this is true, except for crawlers/scale trail RCs where they don't have the speed to make alloy a bad thing.

It's good for core items on MT's as well, just not something I use for arms or towers.
Center skids
Center braces
Wheel hubs
servo skids
cross members
hinge pin braces
wheel hubs
diff cases
bulkheads

That's where I usually put alloy unless RPM exists for wheel hubs. Arms and towers I leave plastic so they can flex. The towers on my outcast are alloy and they bend all over the place. Tons of people replace the stock towers with thicker machined towers that cost an arm and a leg. I'll continue hammering mine back until they crack, then upgrade... or go stock again, depending on how long the last.

Sry for the dislike. What I mean to say is I would put on the bling for more support but also it dose clean up nice when clean it and put it away for the season.
