hello all,

I’m just ordered my savage and it should arrive within a few days. I think I may have made a major mistake when ordering fuel and plugs.

I bought the fuel and plugs from the same site I ordered the truck from to save on shipping and they only had traxxas fuel or dynamite blue thunder sport 20%. I ordered the dynamite.

I also bought McCoy mc9 plugs which I think is a cold plug and I think I should have ordered a medium plug. Do you think this will cause me issues in starting, break in and tuning? From what I read, the savage is a b@#ch to get running but after 4 or 5 tanks it’s great.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Jfish

Order some McCoy MC8 plugs for it, I think an MC9 is gonna cause troubles for ya..... as for the fuel I never liked Blue Thunder much but it is better than Traxxas fuel to be sure.....

Thanks for the advice Jam Racing 1! Since I just placed the order this evening, I am going to call tomorrow and see if it’s not too late to switch to the 8s

Looks like they don’t stock the mc9. What about the mc59 or the os8 medium-hot?

MC59 is too hot and more of a small block plug, better bet is the #8 OS or an OS R5 in that case..

Hi Jam Racing 1

Just wanted to say thanks again for the very handy glow plug chart^^^
I was able to get the order changed in time to some OS 8 plugs.

I am sure I will be back here soon for some troubleshooting advice

Make sure you do a healthy break in. The more time you put into it, the better the life expectancy of your new engine. Good luck with the break in!

Thanks X! I already read the manual and plan on following it to a T. Question: it reads to allow engine to cool between tank 1 and 2. How long do you suggest I wait for it to cool? I bought a temp gauge too so can go by what temp is recommended too

Thanks!
