Just got a new Castle Mamba Monster X/2200kv sensored motor for my flux for my b-day from my wife.

After grinding down a motor mount to fit over the stupid fins and a few other things, I got it installed and ready to calibrate. It calibrated with my receiver fine and I adjusted some of the settings using my castle link.

Plugged in the batteries, turned it on, and it basically sits there and vibrates angrily when I apply throttle. I checked the manual and found that when in sensored mode, the motor wire connections are relevant. So, I unplugged that and got them how I think they need to be... manual isn't to clear on what's what on the motor, but it matches the photo. Plugged the packs back in, turned it on, still angry vibrations when applying throttle forward/back. It doesn't actually rotate the spur, just rocks it back and forth very angrily. Then I disconnected the sensor wire and it worked fine.

Granted, this is a savage and having smooth as butter take off isn't overly necessary, but would be nice to use the features I have available.

Just not sure if I'm missing something obvious or if there's some other setup I have to do.

Maybe I need to adjust the start power to low. I think that's how I had the Blur F360C set.

Figures... ended up being motor wire A and C were backwards. I took the motor out to clean off the RTV on the plug and make sure I had it seated properly. Then I noticed on the rear of the motor, ABC were there in big letters.

I did the same thing. My ESC wasn’t labeled ABC, just my motor was. Glad you figured it out so quick.

It was late and I was tired. Considering the cost of the new motor and esc, I should have slowed down a bit and paid closer attention to things. Glad I didn't hurt anything.

I’m having the same problem and I did the same thing and switched the A and C wires but it does the same thing. I put the 2850 on a sidewinder 3 but can not figure this out.

The Esc and motor get real hot really quick too!!! Stuck and out of ideas. Not sure what to do

What motor/esc specifically? What truck are you putting it in? What cell count are you using?

Did a quick search and the sidewinder 3 appears to be a 1/10th unsensored esc. So it shouldn't matter what order they are plugged in, would just change the motor direction. If I'm looking at the right motor, it's a 3650 size, which is for 1/10th sized stuff as well.
