thanks, I've read through that before. One of the posts lists all the parts and serial numbers for what you need but they're all out of stock/discontinued.

The OP mentioned that you can use Genesis/GST/Nemesis/Arena diffs and was wondering if anyone knew if those colossus diffs would fit as they're brand new and got a few in stock.

Does anyone know if this mod is worth sourcing or is there a more readily available way to get upgraded front and rear diffs as I'm planning on doing the alza centre diff mod.

many thanks

okay.. so I realise I can order all the parts to make the diffs directly from CEN, am I right in thinking that I only need two for front and rear and it's best to put a Vorza diff in the middle... or can I put a CEN in there too?

The CEN diffs were a big thing to do for high power savage's before HPI came out with the BP diffs. Now your better off to just go with the HPI BP diffs if you can find them. Less hassle.

Ahh I see! Thankyou so much olds97. There's so much info it's hard to work out what's still relevant.

No problem. I'm pretty sure the CEN diffs at the time were very similar in gear tooth size to the BP diffs that exist now. I think you had to finagle something for the output drive cups and the center drive cups with them as well. It wasn't just a "drop in and go" type of change. But at the time, it was either figure something out, or live with frying diffs every other time you ran the truck. That was also when people were throwing Picco p3 28's in their savage along with RB engines. Pretty sure the LRP28/30/32 would make short work of them as well. I know my LRP28 chewed up my savage X diffs in short order, which is why I went straight to the BP diffs and now run an LRP30 in it.

Ahh I see. I'll wait until I blow one and then get a set of bp diffs, same for the drive gear. Love running the xl, it's taken everything in its stride so far. Other than body clips and those flanged wheel nuts but that's a given haha

The HPI diffs are much cheaper than buying nemesis diffs anyway. I think ballpark figure for nemesis diffs are $160 if I recall correctly.

Just now catching up on the links provided in this thread. I have a Colossus XT and I'm in several Cen groups. The XT diffs are not the same as their nemesis diffs. The nemesis diffs are the Cen equivalent to the HPI BP diffs as in their the strongest available by that manufacturer. As they said above it's not a simple drop in, just get the BP and shim them properly.
