that looks to be the part that goes into your transmission , it puts pressure on your brake pads to stop the vehicle, there is a little hole in the trans behind the brake disc and pads .
Unfortunately the breaks are toast.thats something I'm doing also.i treid to put them in last night but it gave me a hard time and it was late. This whole rig needs a tear down and cleaned. I thought i got a deal at 200 but now that I'm into it idk lol

I know what you mean, I actually like buying rolling problems and going through them and making them new, I really like working on them, I can fully go through a rig in a day and upgrade as I go. almost like working on them more than running. I have enough parts to rebuild 2 or 3 savage s

well things that are cheap you might want to consider if your funds allow and you want are, 4 servo saver bearings, dual fiberglass brakes ,new bearings through out. just idea s.

I appreciate it. All ideas are welcome. I just hope when i tear it all down it wont be to much of a whore putting back together. I diffenitly need better tools

sears, t handle long alens, cheap! well if you lived close to me I would take it and do it myself in a day, dang I like going through them
Yea i need a t handle now to take the engine out and don't have it lol whats arw the odds of you living in nh? Ill ship it to you... jk :p
Ill get it done just might take a while.kids and work kill most my time. Plus parts cost money.

Since you have your :ercm: torn down partways you may as well just remove it and do a good cleaning and lube before putting it back in. I see enuff grit and gunk to get all kinds of crap into it at this point.....

Also post a couple of pics of the block and head so we can tell what 4.6 you are working with, (there are several variants of the 4.6 engine)

Sorry, been off line for a little bit. The one way bearing is the part with needle bearings in it and has the word Germany written on it. I'm wondering if there are HPI & Axial engine parts mixed together on the back side of your engine. I'm not familiar with Axial but some of the parts look similar to the Nitro Start system with a pull start final. You will want to get the Axial manual appropriate for your engine as it is not an HPI F or K series engine.

I use blue loctite you can get it at any auto/hardware store(homedepot, lowes). As for online places to shop, I like Tower Hobbies & amain.
Oh, do not use red loctite on your Savage!

I cleaned it all out and reassembled it and it still does it just not as bad.so i plan on just hitting the hobby today for that part and the engine oil and trying again after work today. I also did the breaks last night but i forgot to put the pin back in that is used with the transmitter...i found that out after i put the engine back in lol. But i just took the hit and did it again.. i wasnt sure if i put it back in right. I have the niche in the pin sticking out towards that lil copper piece facing the brake assembly.

That's a sweet looking motor love the green head! Petenwlk1
Thx man
Just got the rig last week for a couple hundred bucks. Always wanted one just never went ahead and followed through. Kinda wish i bought one new but at this way i can learn the ends and outs doing the extra work it needs to be road/dirt ready :)
