Thanks ravaging-savage, if you have a bottem skid plate that should be enough to give you some extra bracing for when you cut the tvp. I went a step further and braced it at the top too so it's fully boxed in. I'll try to get some pics of the top brace.

i do have the skid plate. I'd like to see what you did when you get a chance. I was thinking Instead of going with a big pinion for more speed, which I cant fit. I will just get the 39t high speed idler and smaller pinion and gear it that way.

Just the skid plate will be fine. I ran mine hard and flipped it numourous times with no damage to the tvp's. I was also thinking of getting the high speed gear but I've read somewhere that there not good. But I'm not sure since Ive never ran them.

Ok I see what you did there.
What was the reasoning behind people not liking the high speed idler. I am going to have to look it up

I dnt remeber it's been awhile. I still want to try the high speed gear though. I do know things do break on 6s. I only run 4s enough power for me to have alot of fun

I cant imagine cutting through a metal chassis although Ive cut through a plastic chassis on numerous occasions. Tamiya TT-01 chassis, Traxxas stampede 4x4 chassis, Traxxas Slash 4x4 chassis, vaterra v100 chassis. although never have done a metal one because I don't have the tools. Lol!

Awesome build I'm working on a conversion as well. I started with the Kershaw kit but I'm now waiting for my Alza stuff to get here. I scored a Vorza center diff for $15!
