well I said good by to my Yamaha r6 today. Just don't use it enough to justify the crazy insurance payments. Traded it to a buddy for this image.jpeg
Raptor 660. A 5000w Honda generator. And this old girl

With a box of parts. Time to strip it down, clean, replace bearings. Good project to start while I wait for the proper drive shaft to arrive for my Flm build.

Well it looks like the people at Flm are on holidays till Thursday so still no news on my drive shaft. So, on with project 'budget 25 basher build!' So far I got it stripped down, diffs rebuilt with some old 43/13's I had. Fresh bearings and 10k oil. Tranny cleaned and all new bearings. A 3 speed even in the old girl!

One drive cup replaced, lower arm brace, some brake parts and a steel spur. All parts from my graveyard. Total invested so far... $0. pleasure of giving an old 25 new life.... Priceless

25 inherited my old x TVP's which were mid-tank ready, had to chop the tank plate to fit the 25 bulks. Waiting on another d8t tank and a pair of cheap/ but hopefully decent servos. image.jpeg

Just got firestorm battery box to mount up front. Couldn't get the discontinued hellfire box anymore.
Made a plate to start, lots of picky grinding and cutting to clear the shock caps.image.jpegWith a few spacers and extra shock mount bolts it sits perfectly on the 25 bulkheadsimage.jpegover all it's a way better fit and way more solid than the hellfire box on my x towers and bulkeads. image.jpeg

Well finally got this old girl back together, few cheap servos, slider kit, d8t tank and a battery box I think I'm completed under $50 image.jpegSo I got it fueled up, new glow plug but when I went to put my starter wand in, no go. Not even close to lining up. I guess the Roto back plate on the f4.6 I had and 25 bulk head aren't compatible?image.jpeg guess she won't be ripping tonight. Thinking of shimming the engine up with a plate, and a little dremel work to the bulkhead may solve this problem. Anyone else run into this before?

I don't have that same setup, however I had a similar issue. I did as you are about to do and took some material off with a dremel. Just be careful not to remove material in crucial areas, or too much!

I found out why it's not lining up. Compared the original 25 TVP's, up to the x TVP's I have on it now. The x TVP's mount the engine and tranny considerably lower than the 25 plates do. Also the x bulkheads have the joint post brace on the lower of the two holes on the TVP's. The 25 bulks use the upper hole. So the combination of x TVP's and 25 bulkheads make the engine sit way out of reach for the Roto wand. Learn something new everyday.

Couple of shims for the engineimage.jpegsome fancy dremel work, and I'm inimage.jpeg by lifting the engine up it had to move over quite a bit. So a little more dremel work and some button head screws and she fits nice and snug.image.jpeghopefully tonite I can get it fired up!
