What are some of you running for diff oil? Shock oil? Weights? Grease in the center diff? 10k & 7k good for the diffs? Is 45wt good for the shocks? I'm trying to prepare for when all my parts come in?

I run 10k in my diffs, but I want to try some way heavier stuff to help to fight off torque steer. I like 40w in my big bores. With my older 8 shock set up I prefer 30w. It's all personal preference, terrain and trail and error. Sounds like your in the ball park though

Oh yea some guys run 100k plus in their diffs. Makes it act like a posi without actually locking the diff

I run 100k in the rear and 50k in the front on my xs. It still "diffs out" at full throttle on loose dirt, but on any slightly harder surface it grabs HARD. This made the biggest difference in handling of any mod I've done so far.

100k & 50k ? In the mini savage? That sounds like a high number, but I'm going to try it! I think I have 60k & 80k I can tryout.

Yeah it is very thick, but it was the only way to keep the rear wheels turning at the same time. I think I'm going to try 100k in both diffs when I tear it down over the winter.

Confused again here.

I broken a shock body, replaced it and refilled it with this: http://www.wheelspinmodels.co.uk/i/19163/?gclid=CJfjtOL_m9ACFRYTGwodpvAKVA (Team Schumacher 20 wt) which a LHS had recommended me when I first got the car.

This seemed very soft, so during the current stripping down, I drained it and replaced it with this: http://www.wheelspinmodels.co.uk/i/118254/?gclid=COHHhuv_m9ACFZCdGwodsFwFpQ (Core-RC 5000 cst) which my other LHS had recommended me.

This was very stiff, so much so that when I was test squeezing the shock by hand, it ruptured the shock body (I'm presuming at an area of weakness).

According to this chart:
SCH-CR228-2826.jpg

The second one comes in at, errr, 400wt?? So what the hell. Are either of these valid to refill the shocks??

I've ordered the HPI Heavy Duty Grease http://www.modelsport.co.uk/index.php?product_id=25879&gclid=CKOjvb2CnNACFUUcGwodY94Cxw for the inside of the diffs. Tell me that's okay please....

The grease is probably fine. I run 40wt in my hpi orange aluminum shocks.

I can't think of a hobby application for 400wt oil, that's just ridiculous.

Cheers man. I presume the stuff you are using in the diffs is 50,000 - 100,000 CST and thus roughly 4-8000wt equivalent....and that grease will be roughly similar.

No, it's 50k and 100k weight. It's almost like a gel.
