hello everyone,

I got a problem with my new savage xl. After i did the "break in" and wanted to start driving it on half throttle i noticed that it make really high rev's and it has low power... I can see the difference because my friend have the same savage and if he go half throttle its lower in rev and much faster.

Oh and we buyed them the same day and we bouth let it run 4tanks now.

(I hope u all understand my english :/ i'm from belgium)

Thanks

I would check your slipper clutch. Possibly the nut (Z684) is backed off too much. This causes the pad (72130) to glaze up or rip off. If this is the case, check the pad, replace if necessary, then tighten it all the way down.

Also, welcome to the site!

Thanks for the advice, it was possible to further tighten one full round. Tomorrow I will test it and hope it was that nut.

I agree with X, and will add after 4 tanks of fuel you are barely starting to break in the engine.... go slow on the tuning and the engine will let you know when it needs tuned further.....

the nut tightening helped somewhat but now I hear that he refuses to switch to 2nd gear . and there by probably remain high in speed. Tips anyone ?

Can't i damage the engine if i run it on high revs when i online give pulses of half throttle?

and is it possible that te gears would start working when the engine gets more tuned ?

They may, but most of them need a little tuning.

FIRST run in the engine and tune it to good performance. THEN tune the gearbox..

Ok thanks for the quick anwsers , i will breakin it a few more tanks en then start to tune the engine.
