i was running my mamba monster 2 on 6s 2200kv with 18t/46t. After 20 minutes of running esc started to smoke and some reddish liquid came out. I thought the esc was dead but waited for it to cool down and started it up again it was working fine.

What seems to be the problem? Is the esc damaged?

Smoke is ALWAYS bad. Whether it still functions or not. Hard to say what the fluid is though. Maybe rusty water? Only fluid that should be in there is electrolytic in some of the caps. If you popped some of them it lets the electrlytic out.....usually explosively.

Yeah, the ESC almost has to be damaged in some way. If it's still working now, it may not for long.

I bought it under a year ago from local hobby store but I don't have the receipt.

And I changed the connector leads on it...I opened the fan once to clean the grass from inside.. I heard warranty voids if you do that... Is that correct?

I made a mistake earlier... I'm using a 15t pinion not 18

go back to your hobby shop and ask them if they can do something about the receipt.

HELLO Castle Creations warranty department......
:DOH::crying-large::crying-large::crying-large::bolt:

I have a quicrun 150a... I ran it for 5
Seconds and all Power was gone.. All it does not is detects how many cells are connected via beeps and that's it. Fan won't work, steering won't work... Nothing. Programming card doesn't work

And this has what to do with your original post concerning the castle esc problem??
I have to say you seem to have your fair share of equipment issues, possibly it is due to owners lack of experience with electronics???
If there is no warranty for your current product then I would have to say buy new again and FOLLOW all manufacturers directions such as battery requirements and motor requirements, and register the product with them if available, and KEEP your receipts in a file for future needs.....

if you have to solder anything do so cleanly and use proper iron and solder for the application and always use shrink wrap on any solder job you do...

Well... I've never heard of esc maintenance... Is there? I just run it in the snow in the sand etc.. I just dry off the truck and rinse it. Or is there special maintenance for esc???

castle sent me a replacement. It took 2 weeks for the whole process. Thanks goodness.
