Seen I had an email from tower hobbies saying that it was revealed. Kinda like the idea of remote control locking diffs, although "diff brain" makes me think it would lock on its own when needed. What does everyone think?

I think the Nero looks pretty sweet! I got the impression from the video that there's a switch or button on the transmitter that selects the various diff modes.

Definitely looks like something I'm going to pay attention to. Not a bad price too, for 1/8 brushless rigs, at $800. Sadly, it also looks like it will be rather annoying to work on.

Does look like everything is packed in there pretty tight. But if it's built tough enough, it will only need maintenance. I would hope all these electronics are waterproofed

It's pretty wild looking. Seems to me they were trying to combine the most popular platforms out there. Whatever becomes of it, mad props to Arrma and Hobbico for doing something off the wall and new from the ground up.

Didn't know about it. Looks like a savage/summit hybrid. Pretty cool looking rig. Not really sure where locking a diff comes into play for a high speed brushless rig though. Would assume that would be more usefully on a low RPM crawling type rig instead.

I take it, that the diff "modes" allow you change the driving/handling characteristics. So u can bash with all diffs open to not break things then lock the center diff for some wheelies next one allows you to drift kicking of a cloud of dirt and last all locked when u want to climb the backyard mountain.

Has anyone or company make a mechanical locker diff or any other posi diff for rc? On an electric rc you could use esc telemetry and an accelerometer to tell if the wheels were slipping and lock diffs. That would be a rc with a brain!

There are several spools out there. But I'm thinking you're meaning like a "limited slip" type setup.

Well, there's always a torsen type diff. When there isn't any load on one wheel, it essentially locks. But if both sides are in contact with the ground, then it diffs like a normal diff. I'm not 100% sure how they work... I get lost in the diagrams of things sometimes. Like the wenkel engine... that thing will exasperate me until the day I see one apart in person.

I got a crazy idea that in theory would work, so quadcopters have a flight controller that's a small computer. Fill the diffs with an Electrorheological Fluid (gels/hardens with current) use the flight controller to get telemetry from esc (motor speed)and it's own accelerometer to know when to lock diffs.

Looks to be worth keeping an eye on...

Won't be too hard to keep on eye on,,,the marketing is just short of aggressive.

I predict barring a complete snafu at Arrma this truck will be very popular. Just squint a little and call it an EVOLUX.

Did I mention I like it??

Yeah, that is pretty expensive, but that's a lot of complexity. Four servos and a custom transmitter make that price seem sensible to me.

If the reviews are good and I just can't exercise restraint, I could see myself springing for one. I certainly won't be pre-ordering one, though.

Nope, any electric monster truck that I buy will be a savage flux. I have enjoyed my X4.6 and how tough it is. My wife puts up with my hobby but as I just bought a rc trail jeep. I have some time before the next one

How much did they pay traxxas for that suspension design?:eyes:

In all honesty I'm glad someone new to the industry is having success. The overall design of Arrma's vehicles is original and is different from traditional platforms from what I've seen.

From what I have read on that forum, it's the same platform different body and wheels/tires. Like that body better, still going to keep with my savage

Quite the price difference for wheels/tires/ body..... No thanks!

Seems to bottom out pretty hard of not very big jumps as well. Guessing that will have some repercussions at some point. I'm assuming you can set the height to be taller to help that some as it sits pretty low to the ground, but the tires don't droop much when it's in the air.

Doesn't look like too fun to wrench on... all the aggravation of the savage and revo combined. :) lol

Does look bad ass though with the body off.

I like the looks of the Big Rock but have a feeling I'm either going to get an Arrma Kraton or Nero.
