Hey there!
So I was breaking in my XL, finally got my temps right and everything was looking good. I was on my second tank of fuel driving in big circle when BAM, the throttle lost all response. Easy, charged the truck battery pack, but the throttle servo still does not want to work. If I hold the throttle in on the remote and wiggle the servo itself it will try to go full throttle but slowly just loose power and falls to idle and won't activate without moving it again. I tried to unplug and reconnect it, still inop. Is there something I can do for the servo, or just replace the damn thing?

Sounds as if the servo has a problem, I would think a replacement will be in order...you say it is new so I would call HPI and see if they will help you with it......

I'll give them a call, would you recommend any upgraded servo? Might as well make it better where I need to.

So I got the new servo and installed it. But I seem to be having a problem still, maybe the cause if the initial failure, whe. I give full throttle quickly, the servo moves in two steps almost. The rod from the throttle servo, running down the truck, seems to rub against the body of the truck, and it's bends the rod once it reaches full throttle position. I'm pretty sure the servo is installed correctly, I couldn't see another way for it to go... I'll try a post a little video of what I'm talking about later, but for now is there anything that I should be looking for to adjust ??

I would try plugging your throttle servo into the steering slot on your receiver, and test throttle servo with steering on your controller, if that works then you must have a problem with that channel on the receiver,

Sounds like the linkage is binding up moving to open the throttle and then once full throttle is open it sounds like your endpoint adjustment is out whack so it is still trying to move even after full throttle is reached. Could also be tied to needing to adjust the linkage also.
