I need help here guys, I can't keep spur gears in my truck. I have the LRP .32 engine, what the best spur an clutch bell setup for that motor?

Thanks!

Cant go wrong with the Robinson Racing spur and bell combo. I am running the 48 spur and a 16 bell.... works great with my Axial .32 I have in my rig......

It at won

people at the hobby shop said the steel will mess up my transmission will thanks

Well all I have to say about that is the hobby shop is wrong.... if your transmission is all steel it will not hurt a thing.....
what can and will break a transmission and differential is landing off jumps while on throttle. otherwise the steel spur and bell will outlast a plastic spur 100 times over as long as the mesh is set right....

Yea that's what I said I have an brand new savage Xl.so put the 48/16 setup in an I'm good should I mesh it less cuz it's steel or same as stock

With an XL you will probably want to go a 52 spur and 17 bell or something close as you can get to the stock sizes , but ya want to set the mesh with just a tick of play between the gears.....not too tight or loose....

What kind of performance did you get with the 48/16 gearing? any increase on top-end compared to the stock.

Do not know as those gears are what was in the rig when I bought the box of parts that became my savage truck

What pipe would be best for the LRP? A lot of peoplesay 086 but there are so many other good pipes...

I am still using the HPI tuned pipe bt what will be a better pipe...
Tsais made the M32 and i love the looks of it....

the decision of a pipe is about equal to that of tires.... there are so many that it is going to be your decision alone to make.....
anything over the stock plastic pipe is going to be an improvement in power and sound..... alot of the guys use the 086 and like it alot. best thing I can say is check out some youtube vids and make an educated decision as which one you like best.....

Watching youtube is something i have done for a few weeks now.
I just can't decide on what pipe.. Most of them sound very much the same to me or the sound of the video is just sh*t...
Or that is just the lack of a good soundcard? :)

I just ordered the Dynamite 086 pipe for my Savage XL (LRP.32). I was really interested in the ERCM side bleed but when I placed an order, I got no response for about 3 weeks. The Dynamite 086 from what I researched most people are happy with it.

Thanks Jam Racing 1...all these gearing ratios making it hard for me to decide which one to install...lol

I run 16/47 gearing on my X with BP diffs and an LRP28S3. I could probably go up a tooth or two on the CB as it wheelies very easy in first gear with occasional wheelies when it hits second.

I'm using a Losi HT pipe from an LST2.

I'm running a steel spur as I wasn't able to go any higher gearing than 15/49 without it slipping when it shifted into second. The engine had more power than the slipper could deal with in 2nd gear and it would slip once, then glaze and be useless pretty quick, then melt the center out of the spur. That was with a fully compressed slipper spring.

With the steel HPI spur, I fully compressed it, then turned it a touch more and it's been fine this way for a couple years. Probably only a gallon or so of fuel through it. I'm running an OFNA hardened bell and XL aluminum shoes as the clutch would slip too much. I also upgraded to the XL/flux (not sure which) dogbones/drive cups. Now it's just fun to drive and tough.

The XL stock gearing is 52/16 and with my LRP.32 I'm getting lots of low-end power. I'm trying to figure how to gear the truck to balance the power to slightly increase the top-end so I don't wheelie all the time, even on half throttle the truck wheelies like crazy.

I read that the 086 tuned pipe helps with the top-end so just waiting for my order to come in.
