Need a new module

I currently use this m11 trigger with spektrum module and receiver, I'm wanting to upgrade it, what module and receiver would be best to get, must fit in my m11 controller, ive adapted the aerial on the 1 i have, which was easy

That's a 2.4Ghz module, what are you thinking you're going to upgrade to? What is it this doesn't already do that you're wanting?

i have other rc cars, boats and planes, each running a different controller due to not being able to get receivers to work with the old dsm module, its dsm2 or dsmx now, the sr3000 receiver is discontinued, no one sells them and i only have the 1 which i use in my savage, it would seem that the sm1001 only works with the sr3000, so I'm wanting to use this 1 controller for all the models, the m11 is the best controller there is imo and it would be a shame to shelf it

That is certainly an individual opinion, kind of like Ford vs Chevy. The M11 is a rather dated system and as you're seeing now - are going to have a hard time finding older receivers. If you want to stick with the old system I'd check eBay for used SR3000 receivers.

Further this is a surface radio. I wouldn't plan on using this for flying.

well ive been given the go ahead to get a new transmitter and receivers, so the shopping starts, ill be looking for the top of the line transmitter and receiver, i think spektrum is where its at

I'm thinking of getting the Spektrum DX4R PRO, good reviews about it, plenty of trimming up ect function

I never had good experiences with Spektrum myself. I'm looking at the Airtronics MT4s, theres also the m12

this airtronics m11 that i have now is brilliant, if i can get a spektrum module that will work with dsm2 and dsmx then it would be all id ever need, tho i have looked at the new airtronics and I'm liking them, I'm pulled more towards the spektrum as they do micro receivers of which ill need for my micro t

Hmm, what size footprint would you need for that?

I think Woodie is correct, modules are going the way of the Dodo, although the M11 is a wonderful radio.

Well you've went from FM to Spektrum with the M11, the next upgrade would be a Futaba radio like the Futaba 4PKS-R

Yes, Futaba also makes a micro receiver too.

It's a solution, but it's from Hobby king lol, so... You know lol. Maybe it's great, maybe it sucks.

you both are right, I'm going to need to get a new controller and I'm loving the 4PKS-R that woodie sent a link too, it has everything i need, i know its costly but its something ill alway keep, use and look after

I'm currently also looking for a quality radio I can run all my models on and willing to spend a little for something I can keep a few years.

it gives me headache trying to find the right 1, just too many, gets a bit confusing, i really don't want to buy something that I'm going to find it hard getting receivers for, and its good to have a real nice transmitter with a lcd screen, lots of adjusting capability and some bling

Lol, I know. It's even worse that the Hobby Stores near me don't carry surface stuff any longer, I'd like to know what they feel like in my hand. Especially since I intend to start competing with my Wraith and Deadbolt this summer.

I honestly don't know much about the higher end features, and don't care about telemetry, but I know I want a back lit screen, something fairly durable, and 4 channel lol

tips my hat to woodie, your bang on the money for the best transmitter, if money is not a factor, I'm my case and i think jr too, I'm now looking towards the 4PKS

I'm torn between that and the Airtronics MT4S

yup I'm going to get Futaba 4PKS-R, for now tho i managed to find a few receivers that go with my module ... sr300 and sr201

Nice looking transmitter man little to spendy for me I'm looking for one that can handle LiPo (7.4v) and not take 8 damn batteries...lol and let me have multiple rcs attached and of course all the goodies lol

The Futaba 4pl and Airtronics MTS both fit that profile

Yeah I've eyeballing the 4pl I'll take a look at the air tropics one too
