Just picked up this engine. Haven't paid for it yet. The guy wanted to know if it would work first. It has great compression. The only thing different on it is the cooling head is just a tad bigger and purple. The exhaust is on the side instead of the back. Has 46 on engine block instead of Hpi. Could someone tell if this is a hpi or something different. It will drop right in just wanted to know. Pretty sure I can get the side exhaust to work. Thanks

i am thinking thats a 46 airplane engine or possibly an early buggy engine of some kind..... I have my doubts it would work in a Savage truck, but you may be able to make it work with some mods....

Give it a try and see since you already bought it.... but prepare to be disappointed in the performance too.....

it's actually a truck engine. it's made by hot bodies, who is now under hpi. so yes, it probably would work on the savage. it's not an airplane engine most likely, as the cooling head is a truck/buggy head. I'm thinking it's from the savage 25 era( early 2000's)

Yeah, I did enough research and found out it came out in 2003 for the Truckzilla upgrade on the Savage.
