Want!! I can't even count the amount of reasons that I want this, even though I know it will be ungodly expensive.

Ya I can see that costing a g note easily by the time ya get all the needed support gear....
But then again it is sweet looking.... wish they had a vid of it running to be sure.....

Would be sweet if we could have one from HPI and do a nice giveaway for some lucky member though....... (hint hint) :D

This was shown at a recent toy fair. Doubt we'll see any production for some time. But the fact that it is largely based on the 5B gives me optimism that is won't have too many issues out of the gate.

I don't see any reason why we won't see this in production. It's just a Baja 5B with a car body and lowered suspension. Nothing new really, they've been using the Baja 5B platform for the last 15 years.

i can see that going in to production before too long. ofna did it, why not hpi?but man, i want one, tooo! i wonder what the price tag will be/ probably at least 1000$

I don't believe you can touch this baby for anywhere even close to a grand. As a matter of fact, I doubt you can get your sticky fingers on it for two. I just put over $1100 in a 1/10th scale short course kit!

There isn't a single 1/10th scale short course truck selling for $1,100 which means you've either greatly over paid or bought one that's been HIGHLY upgraded, or both. As this is not the normal price by any means and thus a horrible comparison.

Being that this is not much more than a rehashed Baja 5B, and that can be easily picked up right at a $1,000 - I would be very surprised if the Baja 5R is anywhere near $2,000.

Woodie, Before you make such a statement, check on line for a Team Losi SCTE TEN 2.0 kit. Then check on a Tekin RX8 ESC & a Tekin Pro 4 HD 4300 motor, a Savox 1258 Servo, a set of 4 ProLine Trenchers, then add for a Turnigy Nano Tech Ultimate 6.6 Battery and a AVC Radio system. Throw in a few bucks for shipping, and misc., and you'll be right at $1100.

I didn't even buy the most expensive kit by any means. Check the prices on some other high end stuff like XRAY, and you can quickly figure another $200 plus. I agree there probably aren't any RTR short course trucks out there at $1100, but this is not a RTR, and I didn't over pay (at least not by average internet prices).

I wasn't comparing my SCT to this nice Mustang behemoth, only stating the facts on my most recent build and actual costs. The truck isn't highly modified, only built with top quality parts. The body alone on the 5th scale Mustang will certainly cost you more than $200 (current prices for a clear 5th scale SCT body are around $175).

These are only my thoughts as to where this Mustang might be priced, but, it's only my opinion.:)

We are all certainly entitled to our own opinions and I didn't mean anything negative by it. Your build may not include all the "very best items" but you are building a high end setup - that I think we can agree on.

In a similar build setup to large scale that's like buying a Baja kit a 29.5cc modified engine, a tuned pipe and nice radio gear - not always the norm. That's all I'm saying. I certainly don't have any inside info and have no idea what the price will be but will be very suprised to see this to close to $2,000.

The Losi WRC like @Jam Racing 1 just mentioned is a good example, that's built off the Losi 5ive which is arguably a much better build than the Baja and is less than $2k. Again I have no idea but I'm just stating my opinion as well. ;)

ur comparing a top of the line (or close to it) 1/10 scale sct. the Baja line are built to be good, but not so expensive u faint. if u wanted a top of the line Baja or losi 5t, u could easily throw and extra 2000 in it.

what I'm saying, is that if they were to take ur truck and make it 5th scale, it would cost 2000+. but they didn't. they just took a Baja and converted it to on-road.

I'm not saying I know the price, it could be close to 2000(I'm not sure how much mods, if any, they had to do to it). but I'm guessing 1200-1300

At this point we are all just speculating. Probably the only thing we all CAN agree on is that WE WOULD ALL LIKE TO HAVE IT. I think it is really nice looking, after all, I am really into Mustangs. The next question is Will they make it? :)

You like yellow mustangs? How in the world would we ever know that? :D haha I just hope they make a clear body or a black body so I can make it match my mustang.

They will make it! Or they we receive my contempt in full force!

The only problem with getting a clear body shell will probably be the exorbitant price they'll be wanting for it. I see HPI clear SCT bodies for $175. I can only imagine what they'll want for this one. It sure is one neat lookin Mustang. Detail looks amazing. HPI bodies are really well detailed, and include all the trim to make them look correct.:) I imagine the Mustang body, if it comes with it, is printed and stamped.

Wait till Tower actually gets it in stock, and if you are a club member, buy it close to the middle of the month and save at least $200 bucks immediately and then get the E-bucks later. If you absolutely can't stand waiting, then go ahead and waste your money to get in line. Either way, ENJOY!!!!!
