In the process of removing what is not needed for the brushless conversion.
Removed the motor, gas tank, pipe, throtle servo with linkage, and a few unneeded parts.

The last few times I ran my truck with nitro, only the front wheels were pulling.
Did the simple test with the diffs and they seem to be fine, so that mainly leaves the transmission.

So now I have the transmission removed and have opened it up. Checking the teeth and all seems well.
The cups for the drive shafts are a bit worn so I will probably replace them.

I know when you go brushless to change the tranny to the single speed.
Planning on getting the $70 setup from kershawn designs. It looks nice and clean.

What else would you recommend to beef up? The drive shaft? etc?

Also does anyone have a link or a basic step by step online that may help?

is it worth converting a nitro to a brushless, money wise that is, rather than spend loads on converting a savage x id sooner just buy a used flux and tidy it up, seems pointless any other way, tho its whatever floats your boat

I have yet to find a "cheap" used Flux. In fact the cheapest I've found so far is this one here and it still has several days left before it's final. Most seem to go in the $600-700 range from what I've been seeing. So I guess if you already have a Savage the conversion to brushless might be cheaper than buying another savage altogether. Plus the kershawn conversion is a solid conversion for a decent price.

in the uk you can pick up used fluxes for around £200 and lower in some cases, which is cheap as chips, seems they are over priced in murica from what your saying
oh also spares are real cheap here too, lucky uk aye :)

forgot to say, i can see the enjoyment of a build project tho

happy savaging

Ah, but I'm actually curious, how much is say a quart/liter of nitro over the pond? Here in the states it would be about 6.50-10 GBP converted.

I think its simply a supply and demand thing, I think there are more nitro savages here in the states, probably more nitro in general than the UK. Here you can get used 4.6X's for around 130 GBP.

Us Muricans' love our petroleum haha.
