my guess is the stock shoes slip ..creates enough heat to melt the gear...I have had clutch problems to .. seems the aluminum shoe upgrade is a must "DO" for the Savage ....are you checking your engine temp at the half tank and lower? ...you may be running 220 at full tank but 280 or more at...
I have also heard that making your lines as short as possible works as well ...have not tested this yet ....have to wait til the GF leaves me alone ..so I can try it out ...
I locked the slipper...and it was still slipping ...I sprayed some brake clean inside the bell ...grabs very well now...I guess there was some water ..or maybe nitro inside causing it to slip ...thanks for the advice guys.. but I think I will upgrade the shoes and springs here pretty quick ...
is the engine tuned properly ...believe it or not it has alot to do with shifting... I had a new savage ..so many problems ..one of which was it would not shift at all into second...I took the tranny apart ..and turns out I was missing parts ..but in your case ...make sure the engine is tuned...
Hey Guys ...I'm not sure why I cannot get my clutch to bite.....I'm on my second set of shoes...I have removed the clutch bell ..prepped the inside ..cleaned with brake clean ....even scuffed up the shoe ...and it still slips... I'm not sure but I think it has something to do with heat build up...
Conrod Bearing Not Lined Up !!
