Thank you guys! Now I just have to work up the nerve to drive it. :woot: I will probably use it on the street only since it is painted on the outside might scratch easy. Although, I sanded it with 400g and used some adhesion promoter that I had laying around and got really good adhesion. I got...
Finally finished up my show body! I had to do some legit body work to hide the fake engine hole so it took a while. Pretty happy with the results though!
Good to see everyone breaking out their old Savi's! So does the tube to the bottom of the tank seem like it really helps? I researched it back 10 years ago, and there was a reason I didn't go with it but I don't remember why. I ended up mounting an Ofna tank off the side. But if that tube in the...
While it is fun to get something brand new, as much as these get beat up as soon as you use them, getting one that has been used a few times for half the cost isn't a bad idea. Spend the money you saved on upgrades, and you will have something better than if you would have bought new!
Ha! Funny that is what I actually did. I thought I had it in my op. I just dug my Savage out after 10 years in a closet. I did have to loosen up my engine because I think the old after run gummed it up, and the air filter fell apart when I touched it, but other than that, it started right up on...
I figured they were probably more heavy duty. The newer shock towers are probably swappable with the olds ones right? Seems like most of the Savage parts are swappable.
Would there be much of a performance difference between the hpi big bore and the Integy? Metal looks better, but I like...
That's how I feel! I grew up with radio shack rc cars, and they were great... But when I saw my first nitro, I knew I had to have one! I had a electric Slash for a while but sold it just because I didn't find it very entertaining. I think a lot of my real car mechanic skills came from working on...
I suppose I also like the easy maintenance and cost of nitro. For instance, I put after run oil in my engine almost 10 years ago and stuck it in the closet and haven't touched it. I dug it out and after a little cleanup it started right up. Battery take a lot more care to keep them right, and...
I got my Savage 25 back in 2004 and used to race it every weekend. Probably spent about 4 grand that summer! I finally dug my truck out of the closet after about 9 years away from the hobby to get it running again, but now I am seeing on sites that HPI and many nitro engine shops are shut down...
