Team Associated vs Traxxas vs HPI vs Redcat

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hobby_Products_International#History Well, it appears that they started in 86 in California, but the same year they opened up in Japan too. SO technically, they did begin in the US, but to me, I would say that they are, an always have been, an international company.

I don't know what brought be to the HPI back so many years ago, but I did start off in the RC world with a Micro RS4. That kit was great, so when I went bigger, stayed with the same company I already trusted. So I got a Savage 25.

Thanks again for all your input. Forgot to mention that I did purchase the tranny kit that replaced the 2 speed with a 1 speed since I read that the shifting is not goot on the motors. Leaning towards the Sidewinder set up right now, just to get it up and running, then upgrade things as I see...

    Savage 25 to electric conversion.

Thanks Jam and Woodie, I did see that direct drive after I originally posted. Looks sharp and have read nothing but good things about kershaw. So you would suggest the Mamba over the Sidewinder? Just asking since this truck is just going to be running around the back yard and not in any sort...

    Savage 25 to electric conversion.

Hey everyone, haven't been on in quite a while. Life gets in the way sometimes. :banghead: Anyways, long story short, my boy is getting old enough to actually run a true RC. However, I would like the convenience of electric over nitro, also not sure if the nitro motor would still work since...

    Yep Spur-gear

they do make metal spur gears the problem with them though is that it makes other more expensive and harder to change parts the weak link in the drive train. instead of changing a 5 dollar spur gear, you would be changing 20 dollar clutch bells or gears in the tranny any time that something...

    Pull start?

sometimes the one way bearing on the rotostart gets oils in it and slips. I would try taking it out and cleaning it with some brake parts cleaner and letting it dry. Brian
