Wondering if anyone can help me I.D. this truck. Picked it up for $40. Neither the owner nor I know what it is. I wanna say it's a Duratrax Evader ST, but that's only based on the Duratrax electronics. It's got an HPI Nitro Star .18 engine. I have looked up some of the Duratrax Evader ST parts and they match what is on the truck. Any ideas what this rig is?

So I am not thinking Evader ST now. just dug through an Evader ST assembly manual and there are too many differences for it to be an Evader.

$40 is a steal. Does it run? I'm looking to dump my sons Rustler and get him a Nitro. If your looking to sell it let me know.

That was my first Nitro. Very good basher. I put a O.S.18 in it ran like a beast.

Just took it out for a beat run on the local BMX track. It has an HPI Nitrostar .18SS on it. It is pretty quick and easy to drive for a 2wd. Couldn't touch my Revo 3.3 but was pretty fun. Burned through 6 tanks of fuel with no shut off in between. Really good runner. At least half that with the nose in the air......need a wheelie bar of some sort.

So decided to tear this bugger down and clean it up tonight and start a rebuild. Just do a really good once through. I have ran it a few times and it's a lot of fun...but with all used RC's I buy I always tear them down.

It has a rotary carb and I was wondering if there was a suitable slide carb I could use on it or if it's even possible to switch it over without doing a motor change.

One problem you will have going to a slide carb is how the linkage is going to work, I suppose if you are crafty or lucky it would be an easy conversion, but to be honest I would just stick with the rotary carb, it is a decent unit and if ya keep a clean filter on it it will outlast the engine and then some.......
