Looking into HPI goliath tires for my XL. Just wondering if anyone has used them?

Hi,
I own a set. Ran them on the X platform, They are great tires, but I had to upgrade my center rear drive shaft. The stock ones would just disintegrate. I thing the drive shafts are beefier on the XL, you should be good to go.

ya i always loved the look of them but as was stated huge heavy tires are harder on your drivetrain and changes the way it handles alot had my savy sitting high and it spent more time on its roof! lol

I also found that my stock steering servo didnt like the bigger tires much lmao had a real hard time turning the wheels when sitting still but was on a savage x not xl so your servo may work ok with them

I ran them for about a week before selling them. If your savage is a show vehicle it would be fine, but if you plan to drive it then I would advise against them.

I had already changed out my steering servo. I put in a Hitec which has all metal gears and about 300 oz of torque. I was able to turn them full lock when it wasn't moving. Never had a problem with roll overs, my a-arms are petty level, though.

I have a set on my savage x 4.6, I run a 14T clutch bell and 48 tooth spur gear and the truck has good takeoff power and overall top speed is plenty for me. I know they are heavier than stock but I haven't had too many issues on drivetrain, broke a dog bone but I think that is because I was doing a backflip and landed hard.
