Just purchased a brand new xs flux and everywhere on the web it says that it comes with a 3 channel tf-40 radio system, i open the box up and whats inside a piece of s**t tf11 2 channel that looks like tyco or nikko quality and i called hpi up and they want me to pay 30 dollars to send in what they screwed up in the first place to send me a tf-40 system. I also tried calling tower hobbies and they wouldn't help as well has anyone else had this issue?

I personally wouldn't bother with either of the HPI radio systems. Buy a Futaba 3PL and call it a day if it was me.

With that, Tower Hobbies does list it with the HPI TF11 radio and that's what you got...

I agree with you tower does show it like that but if you go to hpi's website this is where it gets interesting, on the overview of the xs it shows it to come with a tf40 system but if you go to standard parts it shows the tf11, well me i usually look at the overview and then option parts for hop ups. So i took that info and searched online to price shop everybody's description showed the tf40 3 channel so when i stumbled onto tower hobbies they had the best price so i just assumed all the kits were the same it says nothing on hpi's website about a product change or anything. I know you said to hell with the hpi radio but still if i pay the same price as the kit with the tf40 i should get what i paid for not a down grade from that. I will defintley take your suggestion on the futaba and look into it thanks.

All of the latest HPI kits are now fitted with a comfortable and feature-packed HPI 2.4GHz radio system for supreme control and confidence! The radio features a pistol-grip design with drop-down steering wheel, 3 channel functionality, easy carry handle, fold-down aerial, end point adjustments, servo reversing and steering dual rate. It's also extremely lightweight due to it requiring only four AA batteries. You won't have to worry about radio crystals or what channel other RC racers are using with our 2.4GHz technology - the radio does all that work for you! The radio prevents frequency conflicts automatically and changes channels if there is any interference. Finally, if you ever lose radio signal, anelectronic failsafe will bring it to a safe and controlled stop. You'll have professional-level control in one easy RTR package!

the tf 11 is not 3 channel and does not have a drop down pistol grip design i copied this from the current overview page. and a 3 channel allow to adjust epa settings so yes i do need a 3 channel to do this i like the epa adjustments.

No, the 3 channels has nothing to do with end point adjustments, that is a function of the remote not an extra channel.

And yes, the description is incorrect on the overview. That does not however change the fact that the standard part is a TF-11. If you are truly upset over it I would contact HPI and ask them to correct their description on the overview page. Who knows, perhaps if you're nice about it they will upgrade you for free.

Yeah i totally understand where your coming from and your right the 3rd channel doesn't do what i said i stated that wrong. I'am a little upset because the tf11 is toy grade quality, i mean if you have never seen one up front to check it out its bad. I just feel like they cheaped out on whatever it is they did to change the kit and charged the same money and i have contacted hpi support which is now hobbico (weird) i guess there handling all the support issues and i have not heard back from them via email. so in conclusion its not that big of a deal but still i was expecting a better quality radio system. Thanks for your input take care.

Yea, Hobbico purchased HPI's USA assets a while back. They now handle everything here. Hopefully this issue doesn't keep you from enjoying a truly fun truck.

BTW, I completely forgot to welcome you to the forum. Welcome!

P.S. thank you fixxer for that picture, I just almost spit out my coffee.......lol

Well they finally decided to send me out the radio system that used to come with the truck. I just had to be a pain in the ass, when the smoke cleared they admitted that the hpi website was not right on the overview page.

Case Closed thanks for your comments and for letting me vent

p.s. (Sorry i blew up)---lol

No worries, it happens. Sadly the didn't seem to run out and fix their website, it's still showing the incorrect info on the overview page.

Sadly it seems rcnut did not read the whole thread.

Yes, it has already been established that the TF-11 is listed as the standard part. That was not jaceracer's issue.
