I'm wanting to make a parachute for my Savage Flux. I'll be jumping it so high in the upcoming winter that it won't survive no matter how I land. To get this high I will be using 6S and driving in one of the best skiing slopes in the Oslo area, Varingskollen. There they have a 6m+ high jump which launches you high up in the air for the landing which is about 12m away from the tip of the bigjump. Before the jump there's a giant pile of snow to drive down from and where I can get up to at least 70Km/h.

The chute will be under the rollcage in the rear. I'll be using a station-wagen type roll cage so there's some space.

Anyone got any idea where to start? How are parachute-backpacks built? Do they use the force from the little slow-down parachute that comes before the main parachute to pull out the main parachute? Or is it ejected with a little gas pressure or somthing?

I'll be putting onboard cameras on it too.

I have never seen this done before, so when you accomplish this i hope you have video of how it turns out.....

Yep that's the intention, a sweet launch video for my YT channel to get a subscription base going.

I live in Norway so I have relatively easy access to Europe's tallest straight-down mountain - "The Troll wall" (From viking myths about trolls). I've had this crazy idea to be the first to jump an RC out of the cliff. I may do it. It's 1100 meters tall and the bottom parts are unsafe so in order to get my footage and truck back I would need a parachute like this:

That I can also attach servos to so I can steer it away from the mountain and near a road at the bottom of the valley there.

Getting a bit crazy, I'd need an FPV setup with goggles and multiple cameras with the ability to toggle between cameras for it to go smoothly. The idea is to have a remote analog parachute trigger that I trigger through seeing the truck fall down the mountainside with the FPV gear onboard so I can trigger it in time and steer it to a location where I can get to the truck again.

Another problem is the mountain itself. Getting a straight face to drive of off is going to be hard, it's rocky and the highest parts are like spears that you can climb up to - not much space to get some speed from.
