hello everyone,

i purchased a savage 25 back when it was new and used it for a little but had a family and such and as a result it has sat for quite a while. since the family is finally a bit older i am finding that i have some time to play with it again and a local neighbor seems pretty good with them.

i havnt done much to it except change out parts to make it more like savage x, added reverse, changed exhaust to ribbed pipe.

the issue that i am having is difficulty getting it to start and seems to be going through quite a few glow plugs. temperature when running seems to be between 200-300 which i think is okay.

id like to know which glow plugs you would recommend for just playing around (no racing, just running it in a dirt field, never have full throttle for more then a few seconds) any other tips are greatly appreciated.

Just wanted to touch base with everyone to let you all know what's been going on behind the scenes, and what we are doing to make HPISF more dynamic, attract more visitors, and encourage existing members to contribute more - overall to help bring HPISF back to the front of the pack (with your support!)

Firstly, we will be consolidating down the forum sections. The Flux and Nitro Savages have so much in common that probably 75% of the How-To's apply to both platforms. We will NOT be deleting anything, just shuffling it around, so your favorite links, etc will still work, and historical information will remain for folks to search, etc. This will make it a LOT easier to find what you need, and more importantly, to help locate the right places to ask the right questions...

Secondly, we will be adding additional forum sections for the new HPI Platforms - again, we will be "stacking" similar platforms, since so many are so similar - to help make it easier to support the new platforms as well.

Lastly, we will be simplifying the look and feel, moving things around to make it easier to move around, and getting rid of "fluff" that isn't really needed.

So, just throwing it out there - thoughts? Comments? Since this is your house too, I am interested in feedback!

Thanks!

Bob

My savage X is a year old and right out of the box the twin brake set up sucked. My dad and a buddy both have XL's and if they brake to hard they can flip it over. Mine is nothing like that, I turn that adjustment screw to tighten up the brakes and it help but it still takes a while to stop when I'm up to speed. I can tighted the brakes up all the way untill it actually starts dragging the brakes when I drive which is no good.

Are there any tips you guys have to make it stop better?

Thanks guys
