Go to the user CP and click on edit avatar and you can use one from your computer (if you have any) or go to www.avatarist.com and look through all of them unless you find one you like and get the avatar code copy then paste on the code spot in the user CP pm me if you need more help. Dont get an RCRaven cage!!!!!!

I had one, and it will break your truck. The way it attaches, it puts alot of stress on the bulkheads in an impact. If you already bought one, sell it and get a Rage Cage. The rcraven desigh is horrible, and it will mangle up anyway.

Where can you get cages? (For me I'm talking MT2 if you can even get one, but Savage cages too) Where can you get them? Do they sell them on online sites?

Oh ok i wanna but i need the metal! not that exspensive

Xjeepguy
08-02-2006, 09:00 PM
You dont need metal. Metal cages bend and dont flex back. The best cages are made of delrin or any other flexible plastic. I have yet to see a metal cage hold up to severe bashing. Check out the rage cage, and that will give you an idea of what to do.

As well as don't buy a CF roll bar like the one VP. Hell I'm nervous just usijng the one I have from VP. Would not hard core bash it just race with it. super light weight cost ain't bad for what it is.

XJ - that one you are showing looks totally killer.

Ok thanks Savage i might get it. Since it is in my $$$ money range. But i dont know why it is different colors b/c here it is green and blue.weird

Savage
08-03-2006, 09:06 AM
Yeah that's weird. I know it's not much, like a whole roll cage like you wanted but it's something. It is good on $$$ and it will still protect you. And best, it will look mad cool lol.

Sorry I hadn't been watching this thread to closely, I have the RC solutions cage on both my Revo and my savage. There are differing opinions on the cage i have been pleased with it on my savage the only thing is it is a little tweaked once you pull it off the truck but not much. I will be pulling it off the savage before long though because I am going with some of LCG TVPs and I am to lazy to make some brackets to make it fit.(hopefully this weekend) Once I pull it I will take some pics of it so you can see what I am talking about it does fit on the truck fine and once mounted you can't see it is tweeked so I am not sure if it was like then when it was new or not but it does serve it's purpose. I will also be selling it as i will be going with something else for it probably just the new era roll bar thing it will work.
As far as the one on my Revo it is in excellent shape minus some scratches but the way the cage is made for the Revo I feel strengthens it some as the arms on the cage are not as long as they are on the savage.

Done man that was alot of rambling.

Ok griff if you want to sell it send me some pics...I might want to buy it.

Ok I will post it in the for sale forum but we will end the discussion of it for sale in this topic for now mo need in jumping topics.

It has been a good cage for me but it will not fit the LCG TVPs so just be aware of that. RC solutions makes several cages for just about any vehicle out there.

Here is the link to there site.

OK, I am gonna give my .02 here. You dont need a cage.

1. Never run without a body. The body is your first line of protection. I didnt run a cage at all on my last savage, and the motor head was mint (still is) because I always run a body.

2. Dont run just any body. You want to run something that is gonna protect the motor. Proline Streamliner is the toughest, most protective body I have had yet, the HPI bronco and rubicon are real close. You will never hit your head on the ground running those 3 bodies, and they are extremely strong. Dont run a pickup truck body. If the head sticks above the body, you will likely hit it on the ground.

Bottom line: Dont run without a body!!

So XJ don't run without a body LOL there is truth in fact also I usually run truck bodies on my savage and will be going with a Crowdpleazer this time as that is what I also have on my Revo and LST it seems to give my truck very nice coverage.

Savage

Here is one too.

But it won't fix the X and it is $$$$$

Savage
08-03-2006, 12:54 PM
Oh, and there is this. It will fit the X and it costs $40

Yeah, crowdpleazer is good too. I ran one with my extended chassis and it protected it well. You cant beat a pro-line body. They seem to take a severe beating in stride. I had a stock savage body on my first savvy, and came off a jump wrong and cracked my crankcase lol. I usually break truck bodies in half right in the middle of the bed.

Where can you buy bodies online? (I have a MT2)

Bamasavage
08-03-2006, 01:10 PM
You can buy bodies on any of the online hobby shops, but the the best place to buy them is off of e-bay and you can buy them at your LHS.

Savage
08-03-2006, 01:59 PM
I can't buy them at my LHS 'cause they don't carry stadium truck stuff.
